A pic I took of a flare in Argentina

Same type of flare that started that fire.

Like i said people light flares at concerts and big clubs as a tradition. Sadly somebody stupidly did this at a club with a low ceiling made of wood. This pic was taken at a John Digweed/Hernan Party at a huge huge building similar to the international centre. I think 20,000 showed up for this one. Flares in this case arent so dangerous.

You mean people bring in their own flares???

Shouldn't something like that be handled by the people who own the building and know the flare(s) their using ??
Tradition or not, if I was the insurance company for that building I'd be pulling my support pronto...
That's just asking for trouble.
Sure one could argue that this has been going on for years, but you know what? Even one tragic accident is too much.

but thats the thing. The insurance companies there dont act like insurance mafias. Its much more simplified. Either its insured for a set amount or it isnt.

In big stadiums is where these are usually done. I dont think people are usually dumb enough to do it in a small club. I think the real crime here is that the club had padlocked and chained doors.

I'm surprised it's that lax.
This incident will definitely have repercussions.
Like the, "no flares" footnote
/obvious

Sounds like a clear fire violation (at least here it would be).
If they were worried about people sneaking in, they should have hired more bouncers I guess.
Anyways we look at it, it's hindsight and tragic; hopefully they learned a lesson and made changes.

Thousands were in the streets protesting to get better fire code laws. You see this is what people in other countries do when they want something done. Not to mention this place sounded like a death trap. Wooden floors, low cielings and flares? Much different from the venues i went to when i was there. Pacha, Moonpark (digweed, carl cox parties) and Ku were all huge and had many exits (even though they were packed beyond ridiculous.

More Argentina party pics.

Brahma Moonpark presents Carl Cox at Luna Park

John Digweed and Hernan Cattaneo (same party as the flare)

After clubbing all night in downtown Buenos Aires:

I'm surpised that common sense didn't kick in when they (the flares owners) were checked at the door then.
Cool pics btw...

As far as protesting goes, we're just not emotional enough here in Canada to even consider marching for a cause like that.
Maybe a stern letter, endless bitching or just vote in a different government come election time (cause apparently we have the patience to do that) but no mobbing parliment here...

They dont do searches that often. They dont seem to have a problem with violence at clubs there unless its a cumbia de villara club (latin hip hop)

I didnt take the carl cox pics but i was in that crowd. I was in the back risers near the center where it seems empty talking to the light guy who was positioned there

BTW Brahma Moonpark is a series like Goldclub was here (is it even legal to mention Goldclub or willt he government put me in jail?)

Anyways Brahma is a beer and Moonpark is the series. The carl cox party took place in a giant indoor stadium and the digweed one was in a huge convention centre similar to the international centre.

They have massives there that reminded me of the ones we had in Toronto until the politicians got retarded about it.

In fact its when the government went all loopy and started taking my places to party away from that i started becoming political. My goal in life is to have a good time as long as im not hurting anyone without some ass telling me i cant.

Fuck... we need to have Carl Cox back in Toronto, and back in a proper venue, like... say Convention Centre, Sky Dome, or something as massive!!! (even Boa will do for now)
