Shameless Self Promotion Section

With the ever increasing influx of people signing up only to promote themselves or their site or their grannys range of underwear, isn't it about time we had a section where all this shit can be moved to allow us to browse the main forums in peace, make it a posts dont count area & let coup mod it ? It's getting awful at times with all the spam now that seems to be allowed to stand

I agree that it is annoying, but I dunno if a seperate forum is gonna help much. Spammers will continue to spam the other forums regardless.

I understand that, but it'd be like a recycle bin that we could have threads moved to so they dont bother us

Then who's gonna bother to read the forum in the first place? The radio/broadcast-forum will help a lot regarding this, but other than that I guess we just have to live with it.

aye guess its just general grumpiness cos even more ppl are signing up to promote the latest etn show or how they're playing live in their bedroom for their budgie & their 8 year old sister

I agree with this suggestion, it should take care of much of the clutter within many of the forums.

Perhaps with such a forum, the amount of negativity towards members who promote their own work will disburse a little too.

ppl obviously spamming should be dealth with one way or another, just pm a mod to let them know about it, eh?

the radio broadcasts forum will sort out that shite, so refer to the above.

please note only mods of that forum can actually do anything about such particualar threads within that forum, other mods can just remove that user from posting and can alert all other mods.

bit of common sense all round is in order

You have to understand that it's not all spam, as for some, it's a way (in some cases, the only way) for individuals to promote their work.

If you give these individuals a forum where they're able to do so without any sort of hassle, it should prevent it within others. However, a simple 'move thread' action can quite easily be undertaken to redirect any straying threads.

Heh. It's called delete all spam and ban the user. It's like they never existed..

All "obvious spam" aside.. Radio spam is the only thing left, this will be taken care of when the radio forum comes up. So for you radio people, enjoy it in the MD while you can.. Won't last much longer =p.
