Man bumps head, sues Fear Factor
LOS ANGELES(Reuters) - Watching contestants eat dead rats on NBC's gross-out stunt show "Fear Factor" so disgusted a Cleveland man that he has sued NBC for $2.5 million, saying he could not stomach what he saw.
In a handwritten four-page lawsuit filed in federal court in Cleveland on Tuesday, paralegal Austin Aitken said, "To have the individuals on the show eat (yes) and drink dead rats was crazy and from a viewer's point of view made me throw-up as well an another in the house at the same time."
His suit added, "NBC is sending the wrong message to its TV watchers that cash can make or have people do just about anything beyond reasoning (sic) and in most cases against their will."
He said the show caused his blood pressure to rise so high that he became dizzy and light-headed, and when he ran away to his room, he bumped his head into the doorway.
In a brief telephone interview with Reuters, Aitken said, "I am not at liberty to discuss the complaint unless it is a paid-interview situation."
A spokesman for "Fear Factor" said the show would have no comment until it sees a copy of the complaint. The spokesman said the program did feature an rat-eating scene in New York's Times Square on Nov. 8.
Over the years, contestants on the program have eaten some weird things, including ground-up spiders and live worms.

something called a remote control

you use it to change channels when you don't like what you see on TV . but hold on , maybe he had a black and white tv with no control, and his legs were cut off and arms tied to his head, so he couldn't .... hmmmm
It made me think of a simular lawsuit b/c this guy's wife was 50lbs overweight, his kids lazy and he blamed it all on cable. Oh yeah, he also wanted 3computers w/ unlimited internet access. And to make matters worse, he was sorta stealing cable.
He should of asked for a tredmill or a exercise bike instead...

DONT GROUP US WITH THE YANKS
canadian law is far more resonable than american law.
ie in canada a burgler cannot sue you for breaking his leg when he fell down your steps after breaking into your house.
and im not trying to go american bashing, god knows there is enough of that lately. but seriously guys dont you agree your country has let this whole sueing thing go way out of hand. i read one the other day of a woman who was sueing the city because she claimed the jackhammering they were doing on the corner was hurting her unborn child. when the press showed up for an interview she was smoking while pregnant....
then there is the mcdonalds hot coffee bullshit. and its not only that but these lawsuits are huge... 2.5 million dollars because you saw something that made you puke? its horeseshit. the only reason this guy is sueing is cause he is some fat lazy prick who doesnt want to work to earn his fortune.
i agree woth colone, the U.S. is way out of hand with some stuff, i realize that and i fucking live here. it also annoys the hell out of me that people get away with the shit they do, especialy since fear factor tells you what the contestents are going to do before they actually do it, so its not like it was a big surprise... i hate dumb people...
If that guy went into the Chill Out Room he'd probably sue me after reading some of the shit in there

Well yeah maybe canadian law is more responsible, but this guy I know was rearended and he sued the guy that hit him and milked 2 g's out of him.
And the thing is his bumper wasn't even damaged. The guy bumped him so softly and lightly it wasn't even scratched. The 2 gs were for "injuries" alone.
That ain't cool.
