anyone have them on their car?? i just put them on mine...
i heard that u can get away with them from cops...

first of all its different in all states and provinces
2nd of all... no tint is illegal no matter how dark on the last three windows (sometimes 5)... of your car

tint is "technically" illegal on the three front windows of your car... but some car companies (BMW, Merc, audi, vw, lexus, etc) come with factory tint on the front three windows which is 35% or 30%

u can get away with 20% on your front windows if ure careful... cops will however scratch the tint if they see you with it or pull you over for it.. then give you a VI....

btw: i work in a tint shop.

I had them on my truck and got pulled over for it on the highway. Got an $80 ticket the wanker could have gave me a warning. He even had a tester for how much light can get through. I think the legal is like 75% mine was like 33%. I peeled them off but i still have it on the back window and i got pulled over about a week ago and the cop didnt say anything.

I'm about half drunk all the time and have enough problem driving without tints. Cops will pull me for bump though, so have to watch out and crank down the woofs if I get near them.

I can't speak on behalf of you northerners, but windows tints are quite useful if you drive a lot here - my left arm is pathetically more tanned than the rest of my body, for example, reason why I often consider wearing long sleeves no matter how warm the weather is.

I believe this might be his problem, as he lives in Florida.

Main reason I got tinted windows, however, it still gets hot as fuck in my car.

Last year, it melted a CD-R i left on the seat.

Simply because there might be other ways of using these darker tints. You're allowed to have a 20% if you want your bedroom windows to be darker (or coloured). Obviously, this would make more sense in commercial establishments (such as photo developers) and factories though

i think it really depends on where you live and how the cops are around there. on my old car i had 15% tint (meaning it lets 15% light in), and i never got a ticket for it. i was pulled over 4 times in that car and each time the cop never said anything about the tint. it looked really dark, especially since the car was black and the interior was dark grey. in fact, here's a picture...

on my current car i have 20% tint, which is still dark but doesn't look pitch black. never been bothered by the cops about that either. my friend in NY got pulled over upstate (near Albany) and was ticketed for tint, but the cops upstate are more picky about that kind of stuff (dark tint, loud systems).

the only reason i have tint is because i hate people looking at me while im dancing, singing, picking my nose, giving head, whatever... in my car.

Ive been told that FLA is pretty easy going on tint. Ive even seen the windshield being tinted without hassle. I had 20% on my door windows and got a fix it ticket. I still have 5% on the rear window, and back sides are 15%. I mostly did it because I didnt want the sun to distroy my leather.
