-- DNX1500 or CDJ1000MK2?

DNX1500 or CDJ1000MK2?

Which should I buy? I currently have MK2's with Serato Scratch so I can play all my beatport stuff right from SSL, so the CDJ would be used mainly for sampling and three deck mixing, scratching, loops, etc.

Currently I have a Vestac PCV 275 for a mixer, and I really don't have any complaints, except for it seems like my EFX 500 you can't hear the FX unless you turn the Send and Receive up, thus increasing the volume and generally just making it sound odd. Besides that, I really don't have any problems with the mixer. So, I'm thinking about getting the DNX1500, but after getting the EFX500 i'm wondering if there are any other mixers in the price range that are better? Since, I really don't need the onboard fx, since I have the EFX500. So for those who have the DNX1500, would using it with an EFX500 be kind of repetitive? Do they have alot of the same FX?

So basically I'm asking for opinions on what to spend my money on. I have about 900 dollars give or take to play around with, and I really can't decide what to buy, so spend my money for me

get the ecler nuo-5

I'd say that if you have that sort of cash, a new mixer is in order. Ecler Nuo 5 and the DN-X1500 are both good choices.

if you arn't arsed about on-board effects, and if you can afford to stretch to it, go for the vestax pmc cx. it is uber, but it also has an uber price tag... how much is it over there?

if not, go for the nuo5 and have muchos fun with 2 sets of effects

If you already have the MK2 CDJ1000 I would recommend the Pioneer DJM600. I just picked one up brand new for 699$ after the 200$ rebate from pioneer. Check out www.123dj.com. They have some sweeet deals. I was going to buy the DNX1500, but everyone I know has the DJM600 and it was the first mixer I ever used. When I was in college I was apart of a productions company, EZ Crew, and 99% of the time DJM600 was used. The only exception that I can think of was DJ Irene.

lol... ok. just because everyone has it isn't really that good of a reason to buy it.

Thanks for the replies guys, anyone have any places with a good price on the Nuo5? I've seen some good prices on ebay buy it now for the dnx1500, but have yet to see a nuo 5 on there. So, are there any sites out there with some good prices? Also, any videos of the Nuo5 in action? I really liked some of the videos I saw on the DN-X1500.

Keep the opinions comin as I still haven't made up my mind

wow $900
I'd get the Xone 62 if I had that kind of money!
It'd be a waste of money to buy the CDJ since you already have Final Scratch (or whatever)

Congrats on the new purchase man. Right now I am debating between the X1500 and Nuo5. Went to go look at the Nuo5 today, and to my disappointment the shop was closed on sundays.

I've spun using the X1500 man, you should be pretty happy with it.
