so what did everyone think of this? 80 tracks in two hours.. very difficult for anyone to do and for it to sound good.. well i think armin pulled it off really well. May not be to everyones liking, however for me sounded very tight and sweet all the way and only a few parts on it where it sounded to 'full of sound'. I thought it was a bit of an original idea.

so thumbs up

opinions??

I'm definitely going to have a listen to this....

*turns on Soulseek*

I would say the tracklist looks pretty nice, and if he pulls off this megamix how you describe, then this will be good! It's certainly not an easy thing to do.

However, there's too much Anjunabeats and Marcus Schulz stuff in there for my liking. I'm not a fan of "McProg".

i agree. i don't mind mcprog but after listening to universal religion 2004 repeatedly, and then ASOT top 20 tunes of 2004 and the megamix... just overkill on hearing the same tracks.

somebody needs to do one of these things with a mix of some ol'skool ch00ns as well as new tracks.

These are my favourites so far (i haven't finished listening yet!):

01 Intro: 24 - The Longest Day (The Story Of 2004)
15 Sarah McLachlan - World On Fire (Junkie XL Remix)
46 DJ Tiesto vs Ray Wilson - Yet Another Suburban Train (Armin van Buuren Edit)
47 U-Turn - One Way
50 Robert Gitelman - Children Of The Sun
55 Nickelson - Yin (Solid Globe Remix)
56 24 - The Longest Day (Vocal Mix)
57 Mojado featuring Mr Sam - Naranja (Dimitri Andreas Vision)
58 John O'Callaghan presents Mannix - Mercury (Original Mix)
59 Carl B - All Day
60 Young Parisians featuring Ben Lost - Jump The Next Train (Kyau vs. Albert Remix)
61 Ton TB - Dream Machine
62 Mirco de Govia - Voller Sterne (Super 8 Remix)

Farkin' Awesome mixing though! Toight like a toiger! The 2nd half of the mix is great! If Armin mixed like this all the time his sets would benefit a lot. The "PVD" style of mixing keeps the energy level much higher

did he actually *mix* this? Or is it just pro-tooled?

Having a listen to it i can't see how he could mix it on regular decks and be that tight.

Posted by Paulie on Jan-09-2005 10:37:

Kix mix Megamix 13 is better than this.

I suppose it would be too much to ask for someone to actually do a cuesheet

Posted by eRRaTiK on Jan-09-2005 12:25:

there's already one on the tracklist requests forum.

Posted by muli on Jan-09-2005 22:18:

well as much as i dont like the armin sound anymore, i actually like this mix for the fact that you just get the best bits of the tracks of 04.

I could not agree with you guys more.

I thought i would never say this....but i think i got

Anjuna/KvA,A&B,G&D style/Schultz/ASOT/every-massive-track-of-2004 overload *rubs ears*

I think all in all its a great mix to HAVE but to listen to right now, straight after hearing all the other ASOT's, all combined sets at NYE/NYD/NYN and friend, relative and bf dj's mixing the same at home, for me.....its a little overdone.

Its a great idea and really nice to have all those wikkid tracks in one set, though. Definatelly one to keep (for later though )

Posted by muli on Jan-09-2005 22:28:

well i havnt listened to an armin set in over 6months so i can digest it, but yea otherwise i would probably hate it!

Posted by 00soups00 on Jan-10-2005 00:21:

havent heard too many trance radio shows compile something like this?

i mean i know you can classify some of the MOS albums with 20+ songs ina cd as a megamix, but nothing the same calibre as this
