Track of the Year - Grand Final!

Well here it is. the Grand Final. I think the 10th of Jan is an acceptable time to finish. Next year i shall run it totally, no hick-up's then. The system may change, im gona post a thread in MD and we're gona discuss other systems. the only flaw with this system, is nominations take place at the end of the year, and its easy for people to forget earlier tracks, other than that, its perfect. However, there are downsides to voting for x tracks in the 1/4 of the year, and adding up the 4 1/4's to make 12 months, but we'll discuss this in another thread.

The Final is the four Heat 2 winners, with wildcards being thrown to the two tracks that scored highest in second place. Voting will automatically close in 10 days from today, enjoy!

Same here. The memories and emotions I have tied with this tune and the way the song brings them out is amazing.

I HAVE to choose Randy Katana - In Silence

All those other tracks are just too slow, they all good trax. but just too slow for me.

Thank godd, the train song didn't make it here.

for me the tilt song does it...

i actually liked jump the next train... too bad it didn't make it...

I don't enjoy the randy katana track... I don't see why it is getting so many votes.

I vote for Tilt.

As for the suggestion on the system thread, we should open that now

I'm thinking we should fashion next's year TOTY vote like the NCAA Basketball tournament: 64 total songs. There have to be 4 brackets (one for each quarter of the year) with 16 songs per bracket (quarter). At the end of every 3 months we can vote for the top 16 songs of the quarter and place those in the bracket, saved for the end of the year.

Within each bracket we will of course have 1 on 1 match-ups according to seeding, with #1 battling #16, #2 vs. #15, so on and so forth. Then the final four songs can then battle in a one-time final heat.

What do you think?

Cont...

(I didn't edit my previous post in time.)

This is what I have in mind.

Find (andymoor remix) best tune of the year, and goes on my all time list.

KarateKid Bracket?

In reguard to the idea above of bracketing NCAA style....I think it's a great idea....that will never happen. Too bad though, because the logic of splitting up the tracks by months and battling to the end is a good idea. It would certainly make it more interesting. However, what if "track a" gets kind of big in May, but really takes off in July. Would we ever be satisfied? The madness never ends.

I had trouble with choice between In Silence and Satellite, and finally Oceanlab won.

Great tune.

Posted by slinkyhead on Jan-10-2005 11:32:

would have put whiteroom but listenend to In Silence this morning and it seriously owns.

Not a bad top 6, good to see Tilt in there dont like the fact both No Oone on Earth AND Satelitte made it in there.
