There was some shit I hated about 5+ after switching from 2.5, most noteably the crossfading between tracks, and the fading in/out of tracks when you fast forwarded through them. That however I turned off. Apart from that, 2.8 would have old mp3 codecs, which inturn would make tracks sound like shit. Definitly not good if you're a producer and are a/b ing your tracks massive.

If your looking for any old version of Winamp, You can find it at winampheaven.net, They have all the old versions your looking for, But I recomend you get version 2.95, It adds suport for NSV video streams, So you can watch live video streams on it using the library feature to find servers.

I had a feeling you were going to say that. Personally, I also use the spectrum analyzer every so often to check dynamics, and to check what's sitting where in the mix. HOWEVER, ALL winamp's have the spectrum analyzer. see (my winamp: 5+ using an old skin of course):

The spectrum analyzer's there

Oh man...

I moved to Quintessential Player a couple of years ago....uses all WinAmp plug-ins, and only like 2-4% CPU...

Plus, it has a built in LAME encoder so you can rip CD's right from it...AND....you can save any stream that you listen to!
I have gigs of Proton Radio sets....

Check it out.
