CDJ 800 vs. CDJ 1000
Good morning everyone...
Anyone else using the Pioneer CDJ 800's right now? I recently picked up a pair at a really nice price and I like them a lot, in fact they are the first CD players I've ever felt comfortable spinning on.
I know the 1000's are out there and real nice as well, but the niceness also comes with a price tag of around $1000 a piece, so what I'm wondering is whether or not it's worth it to invest over the 800's?
If anyone else has made this transition, let me know what you thought.
Peace, Cheers,
RJT
Worth can only be determined in the eyes of the person giving up the money. Some may find the features offered on the 1000 to be worth the extra coin while others won't use them at all.
Just goto pioneerdj.com and check out the features of the 800 & the 1000 and see for yourself if you would use those or not.
btw: What is the DJM-1000 ?
DJM 1000 is an error on my part in my signature post...
I need coffee...
Sorry for the confusion... Peace, Cheers,
Oh, and TYVM for the input... it looks like I'll be sticking with the 800's for the moment at least.

It's really easy to use 1000s if you're familiar with 800s. If you can afford it, certainly the 1000s are better. However, 800s are probably the better value.
i agree, out of the Pioneer CDJ line, i find the 100 to be overpriced, as it does very little. it does seem to be reliable, at least. then, the 1000 does the same as the 800, but with some extra stuff. while 0.2% increments, and the extra features are very nice, i don't think they justify the jump in price...
cdj 800's are the best cdj's ever, for me that is. im not getting rid of them anytime soon.
It depends on how much money you get.
The difference between cdj800s and 1000s for me was a year and 1 month saving...its pretty obvious which one I went with...
If the difference is like a few weeks go for the 1000.
The cdj800 is the best "value" though. Look into the dns3000 too, its even better value for the money.
I'm perfectly happy w/ my 800's. I demoed the 1000's and they are very nice...the extra toys probably have some use...but for the money you can't go wrong with the 800's imo. Unless you make a bunch of coin spinning (or otherwise), I don't really see a point spending more than is realistically needed. The 800 does what it's supposed to. Oh...and if that "day" arrives where you get to play at a club ... with their equipment...it's likely to be 1000's and they act just like the 800 with some bells and whistles...so you won't be lost using it.
This, from the 7 year bedroom dj
Since its not vinyl and you cant see the grooves the waveform display on the 1000 looks very usfull, just incase your not to familier with structer of the song you are playing
