Love Extreme Make Over - Home Edition

I love this show so much, even though it's corp sponsered marketing crapp ... the shit they do and the amount of effort they do to rebuild those homes for those ppl ... it's the best shit in the planet.

Everytime they present the new house to them, I swear to god I cry.

I love ppl like this, helping ppl out when times are ruff and give them a helping hand.

Me too! I was watching it last night. It was about this family whose mother passed away, and the father was left to raise all 8 children.

I got a tear in my eye at how sweet the dad was. The family really deserved the makeover!

Watch the one on right now ... some family who lives in the woods, their house got burned down, b/c of a fire and their daughters have been showering with cold water for 9 months.

That's what makes the show really great! The main cast gets right in there and helps build too, they don't just look pretty for the cameras. There's no way anyone could watch this show and not be touched.

I've become addicted to Holmes on Homes on HGTV.

These kind of feel good shows are what's best out of the "reality" tv genre since they aren't gameshows, but about good people doing good things.

That was Sunday night right? Oh my GOD! The house they built for that family was HUGE! And they had a Bed & Breakfast and everything?!?! I cried my eyes out! 4 women each with their own bathroom! Nice.

That show almost makes me cry every time !! My fav house was for the blind/deaf family with an autistic son, so good !

While the home make-over shows are all over tv now and getting kind of old, it's nice to see one that is actually helping those in need, instead of some grumpy ppl who clutter their houses and then get upset when the makeover show cleans their shit up.

Recently I was watching this episode of Clean House and this woman got all upset cause she didn't like the cute accessories the decorating team put in her teenage daughter's room and the color they painted the livingroom. Not to mention how they dare replaced her old raggy couch. I felt so bad for those ppl... even though they probably get paid really good money, it's not easy cleaning all that clutter and or for a designer to hear "what did you do to my house? this is awful!!"

I actually have a pic taken with the man himself!!
He's not a big as he looks on camera!
He's actually even a little shorter than me...

I don't watch TV that much but if that show is on, I stop and watch; great show!

Helping ppl out when they have nothing to look forawrd too ... makes this shitty planet a lot better place to live in.

One of these days, we should all go hang out with a bunch of blinds kids or single parent kids that are not well off.

Posted by Euphorica on Jan-12-2005 07:54:

love the show aswell minus the whole im ty and look at me im on tv stfu already. and "here come the designers" ...yeah cool but what about all the people who actually did the hard labour?!

Posted by Playa24_7 on Jan-12-2005 11:25:

honestly, this is like one of the only shows on t.v. that actually helps people and changes their lives. it doesnt just give them money, or change a room in their house. it changes their entire house, things they have, and their lifes. they pick people who actually need it, poor family, single mother familys, people whos houses have been burned down. i hope they show keeps going for awhile, because i love it. good people going good things.

This house needs a kitchen make-over

Posted by smuncky on Jan-12-2005 13:44:

^^^

i saw that one too

it was horrible in wat kind of shack they were living in, and the outhouse....ewww...i dont know how they lived there

Posted by jester_ on Jan-12-2005 14:31:

Jester

i always get a tear when they reveal what they've done..... the faces of the families is amazing... the one with the autistic boy..... i remeber the look on his face when he saw the swingset in the backyard....
those other design shows are good, but some of the crap they do, and i mean crap....
Broad once had her very own "while you were out" moment when her bro an I did up her room while she was at work..... it turned out wikkid...
So if anyones lookin to have a bedroom re-done

Posted by E2EK1EL on Jan-12-2005 21:48:

Man if I had cash like Bill Gates ... I would of done this along time ago.

yeah, that's so nice ... I've seen that a few times with other families.

Did you guys see the one with the Father of 9 kids, his wife died and 3 of his sons lived in a garage for many years? They belt them a 2 story indoor gym in their house!

The kids were good at BasketBall and the father barely had time to drive them to the gym. The who town should up for the presentation of the house and they help build it too. 5000 ppl was the total count.

Posted by smuncky on Jan-12-2005 22:20:

wow a whole gym!! tahts sweet

i remember one wehre this little kid, Ben, has a disease where his bones were weak or something or could easily break. that kid was sooo cute and they made his room with all this special foam stuff. that was probaly the best one ive seen.
