Why Do Trance Dj's All Play The Same Sh*t?

Why can't they play something different, unusual or interesting?

because tech house is boring, so none of us want to play it?

why dont you be at least a little intelligent, and tell us about the kind of trance you regularly listen to, from which you drawn your conclusion on so you can justify that comment of yours.

If youre an uplifting trance DJ, then you will be playing uplifting trance tracks. Like all the other uplifting trance DJs who will be playing the same uplifting trance tracks.

I understand what your saying but DJs have to play to the crowd and what they respond to will get played. Therefore you will in essence, be hearing the same type of things from different djs, regardless of trance genere...because YOU/US/WE make it popular

I personally think that alot of the big DJs are quite successfully versitile in their style (alot can be quite techy even though their main style is uplifting/driving) with out loosing their signature sound.

On a local level, alot of DJs dont have the oppourtunity to place the variations of trance that they would like to due to short set times and crowd demand.

There are many types of trance, which one are you particullary talking about??

May i suggest a wander into a different genere??

spose it depends on which trance dj's you're listening 2 tho'....

because the music is brainless, the people that listen to trance are brainless, and hence dont want to be challenged by variation or unique playlists.

you're probably only listening to one form of trance [uplifting most likely]. Try out some psy-trance, or prog-trance, or download some trance sets for the mid-late 90's. It any of them floats your boat then look into the DJs playing them and expand your EDM choices.

Well it looks like ASOT has bitten the dust so now ppl may be forced to look places other than Armin's playlists for their tracks.

All tecno sounds homogenous to me but do you hear me whinging about why all the techno dj's play the same tracks? Nup.

The beautiful thing about humans is we all have differnt tastes, and how much we get into a particular style determines how well we can differentiate between tracks and therefore between the various (and there are farking plenty) different varieties of uplifting trance.

You just don't pay enough attention to be able to differentiate so you categorise them all as one type of sound. That's just such a broad generalisation- why waste your breath?

The bonus of there being so much music that fits within the broad genre that is trance, is that there is ample variety for a dj to develop his/her own signature style (or combination of styles as it were?!?).

quite incredible that they're cutting this, and replacing it with a One Hour Armin Van Buuren Mix every Thursday.. or so it appears at the moment.

theres only so many tunes being produced every week - how can you expect there to be a huge variety within a genre in a given week??

if they were to play something different, unusual or interesting they probably wouldnt be playing trance (which is what all other trance djs play!)
