Thumbs down "teh"

I know that VB has a word filter function, so would it be possible to make it so that everytime someone types in 'teh' as some sort of post-ironic homage to the early internet "haxors", that it gets filtered back to 'the', as it should be spelt? And while we're at it, could we have 'pen0r' filtered to 'penis', 'j00' filtered to 'you', 'kthxbye' filtered to 'okay thank you, goodbye' and 'inb4dalock' filtered to 'I am posting in this tread prior to its imminent closure'?

The whole internet retard speak wasn't funny while it was legitimate, was even less funny when it wasn't and is just plain annoying now that it's become mainstream. Can you please introduce these filters to reduce the level of retardation on the boards? Pretty please?

I agree with absolutely everything you said.

Your ideas are intriguing and I would like to subscribe to your newsletter. In addition to the words/terms you mentioned, for the love of god please add '+1' - just using that in a post (except this one) should warrant an instant ban.

As much as I'd love to see this implemented and the mayhem it would cause among the beloved COR massive, this suggestion falls under the same category as a spell checker, which has already been brought up and rejected.

The post says a lot about the poster (or the thread, for that matter).

Sometimes we need to accept others, rather than having them changed to our standards.

There is no part of misspelling definite articles that should be considered acceptable. This is not a free will issue. If you can't spell "the", or "you" or "my rock hard penis" then you're probably posting on the wrong forum.

Although, if you can post "my rock hard penis" without any glaring spelling mistakes, then you're probably less drunk than I am.

(btw I am drunk. BUT I CAN STILL SPELL. WOOOOOO1!!!11)

"teh" is sooo 2004.

Anyway, the 'COR-language' doesn't disturb me as long as it doesn't apear too often in serious posts.

Have you noticed this rarely (if ever) happens in the Political forum? That would certainly be the wrong forum. If this happens in the Chill Out Room, that's just a person with a different sense of humour, which shall not be censored nonetheless, since the immaturity of one's post exists only under the judgement of the reader. If we were to base our concepts on the readers rather than the posters, there would be a great problem, as we would need to enquire every active user in order to find out what posts shouldn't be deleted. If it happens in a regional forum, that would be a historical register that this specific phenomenom (no matter how annoying it is) had spread to that region, for example.

I personally have problems with misplaced swear words, such as "huge ass house". It doesn't make any sense whatsoever, but I understand this is a communication code quite popular in North America. I can't understand the opposite difference of meaning between "Ferry Corsten is shit" and "Ferry Corsten is the shit" either, but I can't really judge those who speak that way. If they talk like that to each other, speaking this way strengthens the bond between the members of that linguistic community... or whatever

I do find these "j00 r teh poop3r-pen0r mast0r" posts quite uninteresting myself, but it may have happened according to a certain circunstance (the thread was plain stupid by itself and this is a parody) or because the person does find that funny/entertaining. Due to immaturity? Might be, but everyone's got its own time.
