American Foreign Policty?

Please clarify if i'm mistaken about something.

Official reason for limiting economic ties with Cuba: It's communist

Just wondering since american's have been buying stuff that says "made in China for decades"

Yeah, it is a kind of hypocritical point, but much of the reason has to do with there being a large Cuban population in Florida that is anti-Castro. This voting block can swing the other way against a candidate if they chose to lift sanctions and we all know how important Florida can be. Another factor is that China's population makes it the largest market in the world, so it is very attractive to U.S. business, along with the ability to use cheaper labor there. There has been some pressure to make China obey human rights as part of its annual renewal of Most Favored Nation status, but it always gets renewed. There has been a push by some politicians, such as former Governors Jesse Ventura and George Ryan to open up trade with Cuba, but these moves likely wont be successful at least until Castro dies.

Its communist and next door to america is probably nearer the mark.

But lots of nice classic cars that americans will be buying up with no hangups once Castro is gone.
