Is it a Muffin?
Okay here is my question of the night:
If I were to make muffins but not put the muffin mix in a muffin tin but I were to put in a cake pan would it still be considered a muffin?
Scott says it will still be a muffin
Mario says it will still be a muffin
Gavin isn't to sure but more leaning that it would be a muffin
I say it has to be in a muffin tin to be a muffin
Does the shape make the muffin or is it the ingredients?
no I am not drunk..I'm just trying to prove a point
Uhhhhhh.....
Sure...I guess it would be still considered a muffin...
I'm sober right now and this question has baffled me to the point where I thought I inhaled something I shouldn't have....
hehehe, muffins. LOL
to answer your question, i gotta say no. muffins must be in the standard muffin shape to be accepted as "official" muffins. but what is it when you put muffin mix in a cake pan? i have no freaking clue
but if they are Gainesville New Years style muffins, i dont really think it matters. they wont be around long enought to argue about it, and after you eat em, you won give a shit anymore. lol

umm??
I dont think its still a muffin LOL
scott says because it still taste like a muffin that it should still be a muffin. how can the shape of the food dictate the type of food while using the same ingredients.
Muffin Cake
This reminds me of the question...
"If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around, does it really make a sound?"
ok firstly....
the word muffin is funny.
second.... if you were to put a muffin filling a whole cake pan.......it'd most definitely be one shitty cake.
but not a muffin
muffins are small and muffin like
a cake is cakey....and cake like.......same ingredients as a muffin, i presume...minus maybe an ingredient or so, but forget that.
its the shape.
its like sayin.......hey.......if i take a midget and melt him....is he still a midget?
no! he's goo!
HE'S GOO!!!!!!!!

but about muffins....
dictionary.com says:
muffin - n:
1. A small, cup-shaped quick bread, often sweetened.
unless it's that....it's not a muffin. to find out more about the reference, go to MUFFINS
i still think pinky and the brain might take over the world some day... be careful what you ask for...
LOL!! I knew I was right about this one

hmmm this is the funniest thread ive seen in a while....
okay... so if you put cake in a muffin tin... it makes cupcakes...
but
if you put muffin mix into a cake pan... im not really sure... but cornbread sounds like the best equivalent...
a muffin has to be muffin sized... as a pet word muffin usually refers to someone who is cute and little.... muffin mix in a ckae pan would definitely not be cute... but would definitely not be cake because it would be too crumbly... hence why i say muffin in a cake pan is cornbread....
thats my thoughts......
and props to leeann for a good random thread!
she deserves teh slap on fanny award....
i just made it up but it sure does sound fun!!
OWWWWWWWWCCCCCHHHHHHHH!! hahaha yah totally full of randomness..it was from a discussion last night with scott, the neighboors, and i had. i was drunk last night during the discussion but wasn't reminded till scott, gavin, mario and i were talking about it. so i'm not all the blame i guess
Maybe it would be a bread...
like banana muffin= banana bread.... so maybe a bread?
i dont think i'd like to eat muffin as a cake though... then again, im not a fan of most muffins....
muffins must be made with muffin mix, in the form of the classic muffin shape, a standard set forth by the International Baked Goods Symposium .
otherwise it's just crap on a stick.
period.

I'd say the muffins have to be cup shaped or else they're not muffins.
If you use muffins in a cake pan, just call it whatever you want. Hell, make up a name for it!
Just don't call it a muffin
I think you would have a Muffin Loaf......
HAHAHAHAHHAH I LOVE IT!!!
lets keep talking about the muffins!
