Pro Audio Equipment in NYC?

Hey, I'm trying to buy some studio monitors tomorrow and I was wondering if anyone knew some stores in New York which sells audio equipment. I know there's a Guitar Center on 14th and a B&H on 31st, but I was hoping there might be some other options. If anyone has some suggestions, I'd appreciate any help you could give. Thanks!

Always check your prices online first. I've saved a bundle at bayviewproaudio.com. Don't know if they have what you're looking for but no comission sales people...no tax...free shipping is always a good thing...IMO.

well i'm looking to get the Alesis Monitor 1 MKII Powered Speakers. Seems like all the prices even online are 399 for a pair. I'm kinda in a rush to get them.

I completely forgot about CanalHiFi. Its right down the street from me. Thanks for the reminder Dan.

check out the Rockit monitors

You should try out the Rockit line of monitors by KRK. They are very inexpensive and have outstanding clarity and freqency response for critical listening. They're not big enough to shake the room but for near-field listening they are awesome. Very cheap too (about $300 for a pair of rockit 5's) and you can get them just about anywhere. And they look cool too!

yea, i already picked up the alesis active m1 mkII monitors from guitar center. they sound really nice with some good bass response. I actually really liked the KRK Rokit RP8's better, but they cost a bit too much outt of my budget. Those things sound friggin great though. Thanks for all your help.
