Headphones: Swivelling Action

Hi,

I'm looking at buying a new pair of cans, and am interested to know the different ways (as in swing forward/back, or twist to either side, or both) that all the different popular DJ headphones swivel .. namely:

Senn HD25
Pioneer HDJ1000
Technics RPDJ1200/1210
Technics HD-1200
Stanton DJPro 3000

I currently have the cheap Behringer HPX2000, and that twists 90 degrees to the side, as well as folding up into the headband and I'm keen on something like that ..

If comments on the headphones could be kept just in regard to the way their swivel that would be great Don't wanna start no sony vs senn vs beyerdynamic etc wars ..

Thanks

i would go for the technics rpdjs.

Ive had my pioneers for about 3 years and they rock, but they are kinda uncomfortable since i like to use them for listening as well as djing purposes. Also, ive heard a lot of bad things about them cracking etc. If you are saavy with taking things apart, they are awesome because you can fix any shortage problem easily with them by either taping wires, or just screwing in a screw tighter.

The technics rpdjs are light, just about the same sound quality and can pump out significant power like the pioneers.

The new technics headphones, i tried out are good, but weigh a TON. Heavier than the pioneers.

Finally! someone who's used the HD 1200 headphones! Do they sound as good as the pioneers and to they have good isolation?

The weight dosn't matter to me.

the pioneers are exactly like your behringers in terms of folding.

Stanton DJ-PRO-2000...inexpensive and great sound quality, swivel action ,comfy. Good isolation.

I use the stanton DJpro 3000's after i was on the search for new phones... i didnt like the size and feel of the tech's but they were my close second overall sound quality of the techs is good... tho stay away from the pioneer's ive only really heard bad shit about them... like the wires getting caught in the swivel joints. I love my 3000's also because of the larger size and quality isolation for my big ears.

Yer rulin out the technics their way more expensive than the stantons and the pioneers which i can get hell cheap for .. looks like i'm gonna buy the stantons, ill go down and try them out today thanks guys

Watch out with the stanton 3000, my right headphone is presently dangling cause the side cracked,

i gotta bring it back for return

but the sound and the rest is great!

The stanton's have already cracked badly and are about to break i think

On the lookout for a new pair, so can anyone explain how the Technics RPDJ 1200/1210 and HD25s swivel? and can you use them for one-ear shoulder monitoring? I've read about how they swivel but i'm still not entirely sure so if someone could explain better it would be great.

Senn HD25
the sp cups swivel horizontally and it is shite.
On the pros, the right hand cup can be moved only, by swinging it in either direction and subsequently upwards. The left cup is fixed.

Pioneer HDJ1000
Technics RPDJ1200/1210
Technics HD-1200

All of these have pretty much the same movement

Aww only one of the cups on the HD25s swivel? I only monitor with my right ear, would it be ok to use them with the right cup on the left ear (headphones back to front) ?

yes

Has anyone got a picture of how the HD25's in swivelled state?
The best I've found is on chemical records (http://www.chemical-records.co.uk/s...fo&Track=SEHD25) but it doesn't really show it

See that snail looking thing?
thats the pivot.
One of the cups (i forget which one) will pivot on that from where it is on the table there to being vertical.
Best description i can give.

I understand now, so it swivels the same as the RPDJ1200/1210's. Thanks
