Xone 92 Help
EDIT: Problem fixed.
Hi guys... another question.
I have one turntable plugged into phono on line 4. I have my Mackie 824s plugged into "Mix 1" on the back of my Xone 92 (rotary version). I start up a record, and I get flashing lights on live 4 (which means it's receiving a signal, right?). Okay, good!
Well I don't hear anything out of the speakers? I only get sound out of the headphones by having line 4's know turned up and the knob for "Monitor" turned up to around 3+.
Why is no sound coming out of my Mackies? I've tried turning every knob on my mixer... no sound at all? Yes, my Mackies are turned on.
Please help! I'm such a n00b.
-Keith

| Originally posted by Nou k, make sure the gain on that channel is up, make sure the fader is up, make sure the mix 1 knob is turned up, then also make sure that the x fader switch for that channel is either in the off position or pointing to the side the x fader is at. Try leaving it at off for now. |
Firstly I'd try to verify the speakers work, turn them up high and touch the end of the cable(unconnected) and it should hum.
Then make sure the headphone section works(checking the inputs basicly).
If both thouse work, which I have a feeling they will.
Try the speakers on a diff output (master out or record out maybe?).

Wait a sec I'll do a bit of research, XLR is a bit differnt.

Have you tried using the booth outputs (or better acually mix 2)? Not XLR but just to check. It could be a problem with the mix1 output stage maybe(unsual tho cos normally only one channel left or ight would fail)?

See if you can borrow off one of your mates and RCA to 3.5mm cable, phono to thouse small standard connections. And conect that to your comp(or speakers/amp which accepts 3.5mm connects) and see if that works.
Edit: Sorry I mean borrow a (not and) phono to 3.5mm cable.
Okay I am an IDIOT... I had the master level on the Mackies all the way down (on the back of the monitor)... LOL!
Thanks guys... I'm such a n00b!

Lol it happens too us all. From little acorns mighty oaks grown, it's the same shit with mistakes.
One thing tho, envy dictates that I have to say this, people with xone92s and mackies should know better, or if not know better have some "staff" who know better
Did you plug it in ? (Right place? )

He he he Keith we all do it. It just happens that you're doing it with alot more expensive kit than most. I remember one time (this was on my old DXM06) I spent a good hour trying to figure out why channel 2 was so much quiter than channel 1. I fiddled with every cord and knob and almost took the mixer apart. Well, low and behold and much to my shagrin, the crossfader was not in the middle, hence the volume difference between the channels. All I can say is I felt like a complete ass for a while but oh well, we learn from our mistakes.
