Ian Van Dahl - Castles In The Sky (Project 7 Remix Beta Release)
Well this is my first remix well it isnt finished as it needs some major editing yet. But i just wanted to post it up, to get abit of inspiration for it. blow my mind with all your tech talk. And i hope to make it 50x better cause it sure as hell needs it. Just remember this is my first remix and i know it needs alot of work putting into it

Thanks
i think the main thing that would help you out is using some reverb on the main synth. im not too fond of the original. deffo needs work but everyone starts somewhere!
quality wise, its fine.
slight problem though...i dont hear a bassline...or any percussive fills...
pad, very nice, wish i could use that in my remix.
lead...needs reverb and delay.
the 4/4 beat got kinda boring arter a while...something to do with the weird reversing hats or something.
at the moment, its not really a remix, but a structure id say. needs a few more layers on top of that because at the moment, its awfully basic.
not bad for a first attempt though
ok thanks for the comments i'll work on it and post it up again
that effect in the begining is super annoying....take that away. Normally a track has a bassline...add a bassline plz. For the rest just keep trying, its not really a track at the moment, listen to other trance tracks here and you know what i mean.
i have the feeling the melody and the kick are not similar bpm's (they dont fit) or something, or it could be me?
hey Airscape, is that Vanguard?
the fx is a little overdone...
your'e track is not bad, but yet i feel there is something missing... its like, empty...
try to use more effects like deley, and the strings needs work... those breaks dont really fit the track..
for a first remix is not bad at all
keep working
I thought it sounded a bit strange to me... There's this shakery thing going all over the place, dunno if it's a problem with the mp3?
Pad and melody are nice, but definately need more to it to make it fuller and more interesting. Certainly get some better percussion and a good bassline to get it going.
Not bad for a first attempt!
Cheers,
Wim
hmm.. not the greatest fan of ur project name though..
the pads are very nice.. maybe u should remove the kick when pads are playing.. percussions are very weak.. and sometime one pad is interferring with the melody.. and the melody is plating WAY to LONG!!!
