Thats awesome...no price tho.

Posted by T-Soma on Jan-17-2005 15:45:

anyone got an idea one wat the price would be? think it would be like how the efx1000 was?, double the price of the older model

Posted by Max Thomson on Jan-17-2005 15:55:

I doubt this will be much more than a CDJ100 if this is the replacement for it.

Posted by subtrance on Jan-17-2005 23:24:

i heard that the cdj200 will be replacing the cdj500 and not the cdj100 as everyone expected. its price in the Netherlands would be something around 600 euros.

however prices vary much around countries and i am not sure about the cdj500 stuff (cause i would also expect this one to replace the cdj100)

Posted by DannyO on Jan-18-2005 00:20:

Very nice, that .02% increment looks sexy, if this is priced right, it will kill the competition, I say it should be around 500-600 CDN, if so, it would stomp the Denon S1000 and Vestax CDX-05.

Posted by beats and beeps on Jan-18-2005 00:30:

Fuck...it has 0.02...and I just got 800s.

Damn it.

EDIT: Hm...it says 499 euros...isnt that like 600 and something american?

Well...at that price I wouldnt say it competes with the denon s1000 which is like 350. And has effects, and a touch sensative jog wheel (i'm guessing the cdj200 will have a wheel like the 100)

I've never used a cdj100 did have where you can scratch with the jog wheel? Because man do I hate having a cdj in non vinyl mode, where it does that studdering thing, is that the way these ones work?

If so, I still dont think it will compete with the s1000, and even cdx05, because you can scratch cue on those too.

It looks like a much nicer version of the dmp-555, just without the SD card slot and usb input... Any takers on my dmp-555???

Well I dunno about prices anywhere else, but both the S1000 and CDX-05 are 600 bux CDN here, so if the CDJ200 was that price then that would be great, the Denon and the Vestax have .1% increments compared to the .02 on the CDJ, so it wins there hands down for mix DJs, I think when you look at the features, the CDX and s1000 are aimed more towards the hip hop DJ, cos of the S1000s features, like fading into the next track on the same CD (Useless for us) and the CDX has the TTM1 for the scratch DJs out there, but I have heard a fair few complaints about the disc on the S1000, that you have to really press down in order for the scratch mode to engage, for me anyway, the CDJ200 already beats them, I always loved the feel of the Pioneer CDJs, plus that .02 increment is awesome, but only if its priced right, my guess is it will be under 700CDN dollars, dunno about everywhere else though.

Hm...well we'll have to see how much it retails for, anyways right now it seems sort of odd, because going by the price they show there, it doesnt seem like it will be much cheaper than the 800, which even if you dont scratch is much better, despite the 0.05 pitch. So I'm sure it will be cheaper than what they show.

And by the way, I'd just like to add that I did play with the s1000s for a good half hour, and I own the cdj800s, and I can tell you, you dont have to press hard at all, in fact when I was using it, I couldnt tell if I was having to press harder on them, than I do with my 800s. I'm guessing it did need a bit more pressure, but it wasnt very noticible, they are both very sensative.

It seems that most of the people saying you had to push hard on it are dns3000/5000 users, who are used to being gentle with the disks on the spinning platters, where youre not really supposed to apply pressure on them. I must say, the platter did feel a bit awkard though, but not nearly as awkward as a jog wheel.

Anyways, it seems like a fair player, I just think that since its not replacing the 100, it must be a fair enough amount more expensive than it, and at the same time, the cdj800s are quite cheap now, so I'm not sure how it can be too far away from their price (450 USD).

Hmm, well the people who complained about the S1000 platter were from the Denon forums and were people who spin on the S3/S5 so that could explain that.

As for price, I dunno what exactly they will do, as its said to be a replacement for the CDJ500, not the CDJ100, here in Canada the CDJ100 is about 500 CDN and the CDJ800 is 800 CDN, can't find anywhere that sells the 500 new, so the price for an inbetween model I guess would be around the 600-700 mark, unless there gonna drop the price of the CDJ100, who knows, we'll find out soon enough though.

From the pioneer board

"The CDJ-200 will be available in Spring 2005 for a manufacturers suggested retail price of $499"

Hmm...well it will sell for less than that, just like the efx1000 will sell for less than $1000, but I still say that with the cdj800 being $450 its a bit of an odd situation.

Hmm weird, that will be messed up if they sell for more or the same as the 800, even though its only got .05% increments, its still a better overall CDJ I'd say.

Posted by T-Soma on Jan-18-2005 03:37:

Well im hoping it lowers the price of some other cdjs

Posted by tu_face on Jan-18-2005 09:23:

this looks well sweet, and if the price stays down it will kill the competition here.

Neat looking little piece of machinery, would have considered getting one, but i bought a cdj-800 the other day.

Posted by skip on Jan-18-2005 17:48:

looks sexy! and the features on it look nice too, gotta read it better though to know how good it really is. too bad i won't probably have money to "trade" my cdj-100s's to these any time soon!

I need a CDJ1000mk2 with mp3 reading

Posted by DJ Tranz on Jan-18-2005 18:31:

yikes, MSRP = $499.00 USD each.which I would guess it means the unit will be selling for around $399.00 to $450.00 USD each.

Cheers...

>>> PS >>>> I'll try to post my review on this unit as well as review on the new DJM 1000 / DJM1000 Rotary mixers after NAMM show which starts day after tomorrow, w00t w00t...

Posted by Sjodalf on Jan-18-2005 19:07:

looks sweet indeed! -and if they price it around $499 as they say, this looks like a winner! 0.02% increments, ka-niiice!

no ability to scratch?

Posted by rabbitjoker on Jan-20-2005 05:49:

I wonder how long it will take for a CDJ-1000MK2 to be released w/ MP3 capability.

CDJ-1000MP3 perhaps?

It is not a digial vinyl turntable like the CDJ-800 and CDJ-1000/MK2 - so no.
