Yamaha Csx6 question

I have a Yahama Csx6 keyboard
When in Performance mode I dont know how to assign knobs 1 and 2 to the insert fx from the voice Im using, I see the screens Cntrl Assign 1 and 2 , but all I get is foot controller/bc stuff, I see knobs 1 and 2 on that screen but what do the numbers mean, I have looked at the reference guide control list paramaters, nit sure though, help plz?
