[Progressive Breaks] Amber - Erah [192kbit Full]

hi!

This is the second track for my "amber" project, it's called "erah". the style is progressive breaks, i'd say.

AMBER - ERAH (ORIGINAL MIX)

length: 10.40
bitrate: 192
style: progressive breaks
filesize: ~15 mb

thanks for listening, critics of all kinds and for reading this.

cheers,
gabriel

- The sound design is definatly pro stuff
- The bass sounds great, though I would have varied the cut on it throughout the track, but who knows.
- Those melodies coming at 3:38 are really nice. Sound very exotic!
- I think that second lead that comes at around 4:00 overpowers the first one too much at times
- Holistically, the track is very dark and driving, sort of like "Gyromancer" by PMT. Nice!

Can't say much from a producers point-of-view, just the feeling that I get while listening to this one: REALLY NICE!

The only thing I don't like about it is that it's too calm and slow to fit into my DJ-sets
But aside from that I say ->

Absolutely fantastic

great stuff you wouldn't mind if I gave this a spin would ya?
This is great stuff to open your set with, ... the only thing is, I'm not a fan of the really long tracks, if you made like a 2 minute shorter track with a faster build-up it would be perfect

But i'm just a moan you know
Excellent stuff, really like the idea and it really has a sort of charm that really appeals to me!

Keep up the good work!

Nice breaks.
Really good bass but it would help if it would change. It's just a long note.
Nice sounds, actually they sound really pro.
Good lead.
You need more precs and verity.
Overall it's not that bad.
It's good.
3.5/5

very nice song but i think you need to work a little more on the drums.

you need more congas, bongos, shakers, snares, hats... more precs

Posted by BloodfIower on Jan-19-2005 22:06:

i never thought that i would say this ever to a "amateur" producers track (where amateur is a full lie in that case).

but its DEFINITLY my favorite prog track since some month...
just like i said.

the athmosphere is so awesome... the darker lil depressive n tragic mood but still with this lil hope in it kills plain every nerve in ur body. totally sentimental overkill. 10/10

more or die

btw, as i said, its already signed for my painful distance 002 intro if i learned how to mix breaks with 4tothefloor in my software

i'd suggest to drop beatmarkers and here we go

The bit-depth effect get's kinda annoying and the bassline sounds too cold imo. Otherwise it's a groovy beat, but could use some fill up percs, and i don't like that ride kicking in ... it makes the song sound a lot "slower" than it is.

Posted by Andy C on Jan-20-2005 21:07:

wow that sounds sweet mate

will devvo give this a play

drop me a pm if poss, be great to hear some more stuff

Posted by GLD on Jan-21-2005 12:36:

hi!

so here is the new "dj-friendly version".

a bit shorter, drumming intro and outro for better mixing. speed is still 110 bpm, sorry, but i think the track only works at that speed, more and the mood would have been destroyed i think.
