its all going to be "super cool" electro/breaks/"jacking" techno by the way.

none of this un-cool trance malarky.

i know, but he will probably try and play some funky bollocks. i cant see him playing a trance set considering the way this birmingham night is going to go.

I don't actually see the point in scott bond anymore

Posted by Kinuvan on Jan-18-2005 16:23:

makes me laugh how some people still call it a trance night... it clearly isn't anything of the sort.

Posted by Az on Jan-18-2005 16:28:

he aint gonna play trance at all now is he... i wonder if it'll be as good as a jfk breaks set

They can't really play trance because there want be a market demand for 2 large club brands in the same city.

who said playing trance meant you had to be a big club brand?

if anything i think aheads choice of music policy in brum is closer to gods now than anytime before.

Posted by slinkyhead on Jan-18-2005 20:17:

ahead is too cool for me.

scott bond still plays plenty of trance when ive seen him guess its just at ahead where he plays diff stuff.

Posted by sleepydragon on Jan-18-2005 21:55:

ahead now is basically gonna be house and breaks all night
the whole night has turned into a big let down.
Ill never go there the line ups look piss poor

What I mean is that Ahead and certainly Godskitchen are well established club brands predominantly in the trance scene. But I doubt there are enough people around Birmingham to support both clubs unless they play other genres of music. However, its seems that Ahead is going to be supporting the house and breaks scene more than trance, so maybe it want affect Godskitchen that much.

just saw the listings so can see what way this going. Would have thought they would have called it a different name, seems a bit confusing

Posted by svens_bath on Jan-19-2005 16:46:

so is scott bond gonna start playing electro-breaks etc??

i thought the whole point of ahead was varied lineups, and scott bond should be offering the hard trance. would be sad to see the club turn into godsk. they should operate a mostly trance policy imo., as its the only decent trance club i would get out my bed for.

yeh thats exactly why i stopped going, it basically turned into a breaky/tech house/prog trance fest, the only time anything different + decent was offered was askew (who unfortunatly played just a full on trance set) and yahel (a bit of psy). IMO of course, but there hasnt been anything "harder" than scott bond playing normal trance really.
