New @ TA. Here's my music.

Hello Trancelovers!

I'm Robin Alm.
20 years old.
Live in Solna, Sweden.
I've produced since late 99 with "Airforce" as my alias.

This track is unfinished and i'd like your comments on it.
Airforce - 1984 (beta)

I love original tracks who stand out a bit and in this one I've used some "non-tranceish" elements.
A funky styled "rock-guitar" and a vocal, "let's rock n roll".
Just for fun when i started this one but i think it suits the track somehowe.
This with a driving bass and some nice perc work.

Enjoy!
Peaz/robin

Holy shit, I LOVE this melody. This is the most original track I've heard on TA for quite some time. Fix up what you said and this will be amazing. Great work.

This tune absolutely rox mate. Didn't expect anything but am very very surprised. Am burning on CD to play on friday my man. V v nice. Love the sample too.

Piano is such a nice touch too, ahh yes - sweet!

EDIT: Didn't realise it finished so abruptly so will need to mix swiftly.

whoa, cool shit!

could do with a bit more sub presence + made a bit more dj friendly, but its fuckin cool so far

Posted by tylerc on Jan-19-2005 00:08:

hey man. i know i've heard a ton of your stuff before but i just cant remember where. i think it was mp3.com back in the day....

anyway i'm workin on a download, but its goin pretty slow. comments asap.

In parts I was reminded of Apollo 440 - Stop the Rock ... I like how you integrated guitars into a trance tune. Otherwise, sounds interesting, I kinda like it even though this is not my style ... I specially like the part starting at 3:15 and the following piano passage. And you got good mixing there, maybe a bit more subbass, but thats all I can complain about, keep it up!

Posted by robiNMusic on Jan-19-2005 00:23:

dbl: I'm gonna try to get more power in the guitar but it's hard to eq it with the bassline. tnx for your reply

BassAngel: Nice to hear that you are surpriced
Always nice to make a good first impression.
If you are going to air this on a big floor, think about the mid range of the main lead. I think it's a bit too high right now.
Let's hope the finished version won't finish so abrupt. hehe.
tnx.

Luke Terry: How would you say i could do this more "dj-friendly"?
I think that the start of the track is friendly hehe.
Maybe i could remove the reversed cymbal?
tnx for your reply.

Tylerc: Yes, before mp3.com wen't to hell I had a few tracks up there.
Too bad mp3.com got fucked up since my plays where just starting to roll
Looking forward to your comments.

cybernetica: yeah, Apollo 440 was the first similar that came up in my head to. Since you are the second person reacting on the sub bass part I'll do my best to fix it.
Usually i spend hours and hours mixing & mastering.
we will see when i get the track ready for it.
tnx!

Thank's everyone! Feels good to get this feedback in a community where I'm still a nOOb

Hi,

N00bz making good music always get a lot of comments, e.g. Vadim Zhukov was here once, not too long ago hehe. But he isn't here often, but that's the case when all your stuff gets signed.

This is an extremely happy track with some very nice sounds, but just too happy, and cheesy all over. Guitar is original but it reminds me too much of country music (which I HATE).

Mastering seems spot on. Nice widened in stereo as well. Only the break needs some work and I'm missing fx here and there.

So, welcome, and keep up this tight work

-Jay

Quality song robiNMusic, you are very talented and I hope we see more of you in the future

as for critics, i suck at giving those and this is great in my ears

Posted by caddyshack on Jan-19-2005 01:08:

def a nice track, i wonder how it would sound if the guitars were a little louder, and i think the track changes too much from the beginning to the end, what i mean is that if you listened to the beginning and the end seperatly one wouldnt think its the same song, this tune would be hard a fuck to mix out

Posted by EtherealSL on Jan-19-2005 04:38:

the saw and melody overtop is very nice... i think the silence in teh breakdown is a little too excessive

everything comes together well, however... the saw melody in the background could use an increase in decay to sound a little more full/prevalent. sounds a little to plucky, imo.

best of luck finishing it up

Jay M: Thanks for your comment's.
As you say, this track is cheesy.I know .
I get boored when i produce "hard-styled" music. Don't know why tho.
The "rock-guitar" has a Distortion on it, maybe it shall be loosend a bit. The second guitar line is just a simple nylon with a heavy unison.
Maybe i could make a more progressiv mix of it later on?

>>FK: Thanks. not much but still pleasing

caddyshack: I'll try to bring it all together better in the final mix.
6 min is a bit long for the break to kick in tnx for your time.

EtherealSL: The Break will be phattend up in the final mixdown. Add some chords etc.
tnx mate!

PEAZ!/Robin

ps. keep these lovely words coming!

Very nice song and very nice melodies. The saw melody reminds me a lot a song to a nintendo game. I think it reminds me of the first Sim City actually.. Anyway, a very good song and quite unique for its style. Good work!

Hey Robin - Love what you've done with the guitars! Nice idea that could've gone wrong but you've pulled it off. Melody is pretty sweet too!
Gets the thumbs up from me!

Posted by Stephenox on Jan-20-2005 02:32:

Hey, very nice! I love what you've done with this. Very uplifting sound. The melody is indeed simple-- but catchy and the harmonies you add to it make up for the simplicity. This is how simplicity of melody can shine! I too think that this track ends a bit too abruptly, and a DJ-friendly ending should be considered... Good job!

Posted by midaV on Jan-20-2005 03:55:

haha northtribe, exact feel I had as I listening to this track.

I felt like I was in a 3D super mario world on top of yoshi picking away at the beautiful apples while jumping in the blue sky...

Very imaginitive work you've got going here..lol

Good work!

But a very relaxing tune!!!

now this piece is special..

im a fan of happy melodies and uplifting tracks, and this track was pretty cool. when i first turned on the track and heard the guitar and saw the trackname (airforce - 1984) i thought of some remixed war-in-vietnam track or something like that, and it turned out to be that, and a mushroom-supermario-trip aswell, amazing track

the break at the end is a bit to long i think, i would absolutely love it there if you had a piece with breakbeats there.. with maybe the rockguitar or something.

the piano in the end im not so happy over either, it sound to.. weird, i would like a fat sharp synth there or something, or maybe a deep synthpiano as in Lexicon 4 - Reach Me (airwave remix).

anyways.. good luck. waiting to hear the update

W00t Robin , I've never seen u this humble before haha !
Anyway , I think I've had this track for a while now or atleast parts of it . It's a nice track indeed . The break is new for me and it's wicked aswell but I know that u could have done it a bit better . Put some more atmospheric sounds in it ! U use to do that perfect !

But once again , tight track dude !

Rock 'n roll
