Rasta BOA would be perfect if....

1.) They got an air conditioning system installed.

2.) They had more REAL techno music, and not imitation techno (aka tech-house or whatever they call it)

3.) They booked Mauro Picotto***!!

Feel free to add to the list

*** Note to Rony & Carey: I have Mauro's contact info if you are interested in booking him!!

Last week @ Kenny Glasgow the temperature was very comfortable. If there ever was any issue - I suspect it has been fixed.

Love is in the air tranceaddict & BOA!~

well some good points here - but i WOULD never complain about the best club in toronto - I love the high security/ checks at the door - I feel really safe! (I have witnessed some screwed up stuff - due to low security measures!)

techno... hmmm - well maybe they could have one of these nights once a month - just a suggestion - but not all the time - hence this is TRANCEADDICt. . . . hahahaha:0

as for the air contioning - well i definily agree that when it is JAMMED packed with Hotties on the dancefloor - but if you are TRUly HOT - then stand infront of the BIG ass fans that are on the front of the stage by top floor bathroom (dry's you out nicely! - I must say}

or there is some more fans on the dancefloor - find them & you will bekewl - or kewl off on the stair case - there are always other ways of kewlin' off!

xxsunshine!

Yup, this is where I was getting at.

The Boa staff is great, and have always been so nice to me!!

1.) They got an air conditioning system installed.

- There is one installed, but problems were experienced during the Tomiie party and have since been resolved.

2.) They had more REAL techno music, and not imitation techno (aka tech-house or whatever they call it)

- We feature REAL techno one Friday of every month, just look for the event labeled "Chemistry-TECH". If Stacey Pullen or Jeff Mills isnt real Techno, i dont know what is.....

3.) They booked Mauro Picotto***

- Though im sure it is possible, i wouldnt hold your breath. Mauro has strong ties with both System, and Guvernment so him playing at Boa wont happen anytime soon i wouldnt think. Plus Mauro's sound doesnt really suit the club in my opinion.

... they got a permanent liquor license
... they would build a large mezzanine up above the front stage
... they built ramps between the steps instead of steps.
... they had more chillout rooms/seats/couches.

...more when i can think of them

With the hours the club operates this simply doesnt make any sense. To have one hour of serving time wouldnt really be worth it.

Recently we have built two elevated V.I.P. areas on opposite sides of the club (as you go towards the back). Couches are there for seating, and the elevation provides an amazing view of the entire club.

The bar that was once located in the middle (back area) or the club has now been replaced by a full chillout/seating/couch area. Plenty more room to chill out, with tables and lit candles.

wow wow i feel that post was really lacking some intelligence
juts because u feel that u would feel better with those factors added to the club (keyword YOU) it doesnt mean the club would be perfect.
tech houes or whatever - immitation techno thats not immitation techno, thats tech house..

If it was a lil bit cheaper

Im broke hehe... 20-30 dollar cover + 5 dollars for a redbull makes my bankaccount suffer

Oh well, supply and demand

Unfortunately, due to the way a true afterhours club operates, a higher cover price is a must. Since the club doesnt generate the high income in alcohol, it must make up for it in other ways. Also a high amount of the cover price goes back into the club through renovations, sound, dj's, etc. There are some MAJOR renovations still to be done this year, including (believe it or not) - MORE SOUND.

WOW WOW... I think you are lacking some intelligence here. I'm just giving some suggestions on how to make a cool club even cooler.

If YOU don't think these factors would make Boa even better than it already is, then more power to ya!

more SOUND!!!!!!!!!!! I would have NEVER thought!!!

I like the black VIP-ish areas behand the GIant speakers!!!! SWEET ASS reno's dudes! I can see why there is a hgh cover though due to NO alcohol sales and the Major reno's happening - KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!~

maybe a few more BLOW fans???

I prefer no more drunks there then there would be if they had a liquor licence - and when the club opens at 1am - one hour serving time seems STUPID - like you suggestion!

they have already started buiklding upwards - so don't u worry!!!!!!!!

I think they have enuff and if not - sit on one of the stairs - grabs some towels from the bathroom and chill out there! also haven't you been downstairs int he lounge?? there is plenty of EXTRA seating there!

Can't people ever shut up about this? It's not happening. Get over it.

They're doing a fine job, and they don't need advice from any of you on how to make it better. Most of you have never even been there on a better night (i.e. not a trance night).

I agree the thing with the alcohol is getting a little old, but i think the interest being shown in the multiple threads is good for the club. Rony, Carey and Erica frequent TA daily for input and peoples thoughts about the club. I think people need to realise though the direction this club is going isnt going to change. The afterhours formula has been a success since day one, so other than occasional special events (i.e. NYE) dont expect to be sipping on booze week in and week out at Boa. If getting a little tipsy when you go clubbing is your thing, hit up a bar/club that serves booze and head over to Boa after last call! You'll still get there before peak hours, and be able to use your guestlist capabilities.

Yup.

Posted by DigiNut on Jan-18-2005 22:55:

Yeah, I didn't mean that people should never give any input toward Boa, obviously there is always room to improve, but...

When the "advice" is the same thing over and over again, i.e. "more booze" and "cheaper cover", it gets very old very fast! There are a hundred bars in Toronto with cheap cover and cheap drinks... go there.

Posted by matty on Jan-18-2005 23:20:

It is impossible to have a perfect club. No matter how good it is someone will always have a problem with one thing or another. There are just too many different people out there to take into account.

On that note, from what i hear BOA is an amazing club and i'm looking forward to hitting it up when i get home.
