NooB trying to locate a certain genre
Nice site fellas. I'm trying to find a techno-ish sound of music I heard today. It was off a dubbed cassette that was labeled "Techno" so I have no idea how old, who, or what it is. It was somewhat fast, bass pounding with almost no lyrics. Only words were like "LSD, god" and weird shit but it sounded sick. The beat would be continuous for like 5 minutes and then go slow for like 30 seconds, sometimes even stopping, then hit again. The beat didn't vary but you didn't get sick of it. It was nothing like Tiesto or Oakenfold, it was way better IMO. Ideas?
thanx in advance
Paul von Dyk
Kai Tracid? just offering a point of reference; your description can fit into a lot of hard genres, like psy or goa or hard trance. or hardcore.
no clue
haha by your description it could be almost anything.. did it have more lots of percussion? or was the bassline pretty simple? waht abotu melody?
Sounds like goa or psy-trance.
sounds kinda like New Order - Confusion (pump panel reconstruction)
a.k.a. the Blade rave scene song
best thread ever.
easy on the noo-b
thanx for the replies thus far, I'll do some searching for samples of names/genres posted. I had the best cardio workout in a long time listening to that tape the other day, that's why I'd like to find more of it. Soundfactory/Jersey Shore club mixes are my favorite but this was killer.
The feedback is much appreciated.

how can you say it sounds like x or y, it could be anything. I know people use the word techno to describe almost any EDM, probably need a bit more a description buddy
Do you know the name of the track?

sample or stfu
We always welcome new people to the trance-family, all are well-mannered folks.

Use your computer microphone to record it and put it online for TA's pros to ID it.
