((ambush)) Maddhatterradio Closing Party 02.11.05

I must say that we at MaddHatter have anjoyed every minute of bringing you quality EDM events in Atlanta. Our shows gave you a bit more bang for you buck with lasers, added sound, dancers, cryogenics, and decorations...the little details that truly make an event a party.

Our goal in producing events was to debut artists in the city, bring you unique lineups that we wanted to see (other than at WMC of course) and to bring back Dj's that had not graced our city in some time. I feel that we accomplished that goal over the last 2 1/2 years.

As I am sure you are aware, this is a very competitive promotional market, and the risk has now far surpassed the return for us.

To our loyal supporters (and you know who you are) our deepest thanks because without you none of this would have been remotely possible.

For our last event......we in our MaddHatter tradition, plan on having a blow out event @ "AMBUSH" and turning an event into a party once again with....

DARA - (Breakbeat Science, NYC)

Since his first record release in 1995, Dara has produced a string of highly successful singles and remixes as well as his 1997 full-length debut "Halfway Home (sm-e communications) has been a huge critical and commercial success. As a result from both his successful DJing and recording endeavors, Dara has become one of the most recognizable faces on the US drum 'n' bass scene. He has been featured in countless magazine appearances and interviews both in the US and worldwide. Breakbeat Science is not only his label, but it is also the first and biggest drum 'n' bass store, co-founded by Dara. Dara has done an array of remixes including on singles from DJ's such as Keoki, Pizzicato Five, Dog Eat Dog, Black Nostaljack and Afrika Bambaata. With the recent eruption of Drum and Bass in the U.S., DJ Dara isn't going anywhere. There is no telling what kind of damage his next endeavors might do.


DB (Breakbeat Science, NYC)

Arriving in New York from London in '89, it could be said that no one has done more for Drum & Bass in America than DB. First with his hardcore Breakbeat club NASA, then by launching Sme communications and releasing the first Jungle singles and compilations in the U.S, as well as signing DJ Dara, thus kick starting his artist career. He and Dara then opened Breakbeat Science, dedicated to Drum & Bass, It quickly become not only the most respected record store and label, but also the very epicenter of the jungle community in the U.S. With over 10 mix Cd�s released over the last 10 years and countless tracks spun by Dj�s across the land�Db is one artist that has crossed over into a level few have done in the states. It is our pleasure to welcome DB back to Atlanta.

I hate to see you leave the promotion scene. You've thrown some of the most memorable parties I've ever attended (can anyone say SANDER KLEINENBERG AT THE MARK??? party of the YEAR!!!) You've been nothing but kind, generous, honest, and I have yet to meet a promoter who cares so much about their fellow members in the community, the music, and throwing the best damned party they can!

This isn't easy for any of us. I know how much you love putting these parties on, and I know how much all of us LOVE going to them. We'll never forget the good times though

Thanks for adding so much to our community!!! You've made Atlanta an awesome place to party, and we truly appreciate everything you've done

This is really a sad day in Atlanta. Hagen is such a kind dear friend and the funniest and best damn promoter ever!!! This is so sad that we are now losing out Maddhatter Radio Events. Hagen you know I have nothing but love for you. We have to party more at events and you won't have to worry about "smooshing"!! I had such a great time at each event I came to of yours and so has each one of my friends I have brought with me. Don't forget about us!!

Lets not turn this into a Liquified bashing session. They happen to be very good at what they do and very consistent might I add. Anyone who can out-last 7-12 major promoters in the course of 10+ years deserves to be at the top plain and simple. I am not saying they are the best promoter..just the most efficient corporation that has cornered a market here in Atlanta.

I was never in this for the $$$ and I guess that is where my frustration comes in. I have a very, very lucritive career as a finance director that has funded MaddHatter. My goal was to break even..or make a little bit If possible...but after continual losses, there is only so much one can do.

I do wish there was room for 2 solid promoters in this city, but it seems there is not.

hagan i've never met you in person before, but i must still say that every one of your parties that i've attended have always been top notch and i've always heard such wonderful things about you from the TA crew... i wish you the best of luck in everything and in life...

Thank all of you guys for the kind words. YOu all have supported Maddhatter with such intensity and we appreciate each and every one of you for the good times and the debauchery!!! I am truely sad to see this ending but understand why it's happening. I have enjoyed every moment that I have spent working with Maddhatter and we will see all of you guys at the shows and definitely down at conference!! Hagen you're like a brother to me man and you're trhe realest promoter that has ever graced this town. It's unfortunate that two top promoters can't both exist in this town. You guys are one of the nicest groups of people I have ever met and it has always put a smile on my face seeing you at our events. See you folks on the dancefloor!!!

Anyone who was a fan of what we were doing in Atlanta, I ask you to come out to this show as a show of support and a farewell to MaddHatter.

You guys played a very important role in our events and promotions, and we appreciate it greatly. Your presence at our farewell event would mean a great deal to us.

Hagen, Corey and all of you involved with Maddhatter are outstanding individuals. You have thrown some of the best events in this town and I am sad to see this coming to an end. Hagen, thank you for your encouragement and support since starting Surface back in July. Its been a pleasure working with you at the Mark and I hope to see you out and about soon.

I wouldn't even know The Mark existed if you guys hadn't brought me there again and again and it truly is my favorite venue in Atlanta!!!

Unfortunately yes. I may facilitate a JOOF booking in Atlanta as John and I are good friends and he loves Atlanta...

Sander just got scooped back up by Liquified...so he is playing at Eleven 50 in March.
