Rap and RNB music will take over the whole music scene

So i got digital cable wich has about 8-9 music channels, and 5 only play rap. Also every Disney movie soundtrack has RNB songs on it. I don't understand why people who don't like rap can't get a music channel without rap. That is the only reason why i hate rap music becouse everywhere i go or everywhere i turn the channel it has rap.

Dude, haven't you realized? It already has.

Damn I was about to follow that by, what Mr.Deniro said in "Taxi Driver" about there being to much trash and how its eating him up inside, but switch it around so it seems like its about Rap,RnB. I couldn't find the quote from the movie though

Now lets say this, would you(all of us trance addicts)want it to be popular just like Rap,RnB? I would say no and yes. The yes part because, I would love everyone to know how Trance is more then just music, and how great it is. The no being, I dont really know, except I guess I like it, that its not that mainstream, and how Im not like every other american who listens to just Rap,RnB,Rock, you know.

If you ask me, rap and rnb are already losing influence.

and don't forget: you can't spell crap without rap ;o)

Why just trance? Why are you people stuck on the most commercial genre of EDM? Branch the fuck out already.

I think Rap is on the decline actually, for the last 4-5 years it seemed the be the pop music of choice for the masses, at least the teenagers. But if you look at MTV now, you see pop rock on the inclince, with bands like the Killers, Franz Ferdinand, Modest Mouz, Green Day, etc. gaining more popularity. Of course these bands and this type of music have been popular for awhile, but they seem to be starting to take away some of the attention from rap, so I think the market is starting to shift for that to be the next trendy thing.

Posted by trewqy on Jan-19-2005 10:36:

The music industry caters to TEENAGERS.

What these kids nowadays love, it will be top of the pops.

Seriously, how many people around the age group of 14-21 listen to anything else other than processed MTV hits?

Posted by Jake Conlon on Jan-19-2005 10:53:

if i hear one more franz ferdinand track i will hunt them down.

how the fuck can the streets with two great albums be beaten by one album that sounds the same every track.

Posted by Nsonic on Jan-19-2005 10:54:

i thought house was on a comeback...or is it just in australia?

i think 14-21 demographic are too lazy to get music other than what they hear.
Pop(ular). and people dont like to be referred to as listners of pop, even though they are

RnB = Pop
pwned

lol

if the music industry catered for people like my dad, we'd be hearing stuff from the 70's *shudder* i hear that crap all the time in the car.

Posted by Coffee on Jan-19-2005 11:19:

rap is new... RNB is OLD its been around since the 50's..
listen to ray charles he was one of the first to experince with it! mixing it with gospel! RnB will always be in the charts. thats why they have their own charts!
HIP HOP! its up and down it will never take over the world!
its just having its day in the sun thats all!
EDM, POP, COuntry, RNB, rock, will always be there too..
actually if you ask me.. I havent heard a good hip hop or rap tune in ages,,. only a few are coming out a year worth a credit.. and they usually made the old stars!
EDM will always be the energy of music! you think IBIZA will convert and 2 million people will go there to party to RAP?? NEVER!!!

Posted by Trypt0mine on Jan-19-2005 11:25:

i dont really think about whether or not theyre playin rap or not in the media. the fact is that all theyre playing is crap , i honestly think the music industry is going down

As long trancemusic will be around, parties will be organized and cd's will be available in shops it's fine with me.

Posted by Icesotope on Jan-19-2005 12:43:

I personally like these songs everytime they play it in a club

Rupee - Tempted To Touch
Jamelia - Superstar
Kevin Lyttle - Turn Me On

I don't really see the need of removing hiphop/rap off a liveset. I like the way they kick off with some Artful Dodger/Craig David/Usher style following by some House music by Deep Dish, Basement Jaxx and A.T.F.C. Slowly the Bass evolves into uplifting trance like ''Carte Blanche' 'Signet'. Finally they can end the whole thing by throwing some real Hardtrance. It's totally fine with me as long i can dance to the rhythm and hey it's Asia.

About the MTV and stuffs.. I think it's way too ridiculous. Dance Music has totally been consumed by this kind of genre. It's really an overdose of it.

Im glad MTW plays fucking rap and shitty rock, we dont want mtv to start playing "good" trance.

Next thing you know we will have:

MTV Cribz: Tie$to
"umm high guys, this is my room where I watch tv, ...this is my room where i bash other djs on my computer as anonymous user names.....this is the hooker i bought for tonites shagfest, I always play 'Traffic' when im on the 'job it gets me off!!!! omg1111 anyhow, thanks for touring my crib, see you all at my Tie$to in concert 65"

Posted by djxtension on Jan-19-2005 14:52:

A lot of people here are constantly raving about how good trance (or progressive, techno, etc...) is, and how all the rap/hip-hop/r&b sucks.

R&B is probably older than most EDM, and is far more popular in most countries.

Rap and R&B have been around for ages, and they will always be around in the future. Get over it.

YEAHHH!!! FUCK ORY

i think that music thats using words to give you a feeling just isnt good. even more if its like "shake your ass touch my ting shake that booty blah blah) ofcourse i love some vocal tracks but the vocals arent the main theme of the track or they arent made just to sell. R&B sucks cuz the singer tells you to be w/e most teens are (because of this music) send it on msn dude you dont have to fucking sing it.
anyways i hope jamelia will never use her mouth again...

... to sing

and dude thats why we have internet and stuff. to be able to listen/do w/e we like

Posted by xxxtasy on Jan-19-2005 16:30:

I dont' know about Rap, but according to BBC article, HipHop overtook Pop as the most successful genre for year 2004.

Different people have different tastes, so be it.

I personally don't appreciate Rap or hiphop.
