-- Ferry is GOD!!
Ferry is GOD!!
Hey TA's,
I'd just like to let you know that i had the night of my life Friday night thanks to none other than Ferry Corsten. I had been wating for this event for over a month and the watiing paid off. I had about 10 beam & colas and then was ready to hit the dance floor.
First up was Anthony Pappa, some Australian guy who is meant to be heaps good, i never heard of him anyway. He played progressive house which i didn;t really like that much but enjoyed dancing to none the less.
Well then came Ferry. While the crowd here in Adelaide is rather ignorant towards trance geniuses such as Ferry, it seemed i was the only one cheering. To be honest, Ferry started off playing pretty shit progressive. 30 mins into the set the crowd started actually realising the quality that FErry was pumping out and gradually got into it. He then played this cracker set, well these are the songs i've so far recognised anyway, in order of appearence:
DHS - The House Of God (Azzido Da Bass Remix)
Vaiio - Rapture (riva remix)
System F - Needlejuice
Ocean Lab - Clear Blue Water (ferry corsten remix)
Jose Amnesia - The Eternal (pulser remix)
Veracocha - Carte Blanche (original 12" mix)
Push - The Legacy (orginal mix)
System F - Dance Valley Theme 2001
Gouryella - Tenshi (extended version)
All of these songs went crazy!! In particular, the crowd went fanatical during carte blanche (what a classic!) and Dance Valley Theme 2001. He also closed with Tenshi, what a way to finish! I was right up the front for the last 75% of his set, and was dancing no more than 3 metres away from the man himself! It was great cos i could recognise the songs as soon as i heard the beat and the bass, so i started cheering for the song way before everyone else. Cos i was up the front, Ferry could tell that i knew the song he was playing right before everyone else, and he smiled at me as i was dancing and cheering my arse off. And then when Carte Blanche was about to start its main melody/riff for the second time (theres a big buildup), he stopped the music, raised his hands up for the crowd to go crazy, and then started playing again! Unbelievable! And he was always getting the crowd involved which was great to see.
Then after his set i went up and shook his hand and got him to sighn this ministry of sound poster that they were throwing into the crowd. It's now laminated and hanging on my wall....what a momento!! I will never forget the great night i had, which is all thanks to one man, FERRY CORSTEN!!

1 thing i dont get....ferry/pvd/ and tiesto seem 2 be ppls faves on this site..ferry and tiesto represent mainly upliting trance..yet ppl on this site generally seem 2 prefer progressive rather than the epic uplifting type..strange..or is it just me?i much prefer uplifting myself.
FF
same thing for me man.........lucky
Man i really understand your feelings. Piece of memory for the rest of your life. I understand your great feeling about Ferry Corsten because this guy makes us happy with his music. Such great tunes with big builup and "UPLIFTING UPLIFTING AND MORE" WOWWWWWW sucj a great skills dj here.
4TH OCTOBER 2001 i saw TRANCE MASTER DJ Tiesto that i consider my fav dj with Ferry Corsten and Armin Van Buuren. Well I live in Quebec city and trance is no well known there because house music is like a religion. But this night we were 3000 people but 150 including me were really sick. We know this trance master and everybody know each track he played. I was in front of him screaming each name of tracks he was playing. He was sooooo happy to see us in front of him. This began when you ...probably know FIRE AND ICE - SOUVENIR DE CHINE... in the middle of that track you have some children laughing and some photograph flash. This is the slow part before one of the sweet uplifting i ever heard and i've sream
"YEAHHHHHHH FIRE & ICE" he was soo surprise by this call and stop that vinyl and call in the microphone
Quebec city trancer WATCCHHHHHHHHHH OUTTTTTT"
aND BANG THE SOLID TRACK WAS BEGIN.....
What a night, the best of my life, 2 posters with his signature and the ultimate vinyl of "Cass & slide - glad i ate her". He gaves me this at the end of the show. RESPECT
I love that 3 dj's tiesto - corsten - buuren because they are the god
tiesto - corsten : is gouryella
tiesto and buuren: alibi
corsten and buuren: track of system f - exhale
Best track ever: william orbit - barber's adagio's foo strings (corsten remix)
gouryella - wallhalla
Thanks at all for this post and excuse my poor english writting.
Give me news to : [email protected]
Yeah, i know exactly what you mean tiesto2222....when you recognise the songs before everyone else and scream out the name!! And you could tell that he really appreciated you knowing the songs he was spinning.
Indeed, i was VERY LUCKY to see Ferry. Adelaide is a city of about 1 million people but it has absolutely no trance scene at all. We have missed out recently on DJ Taucher and Mario Piu, And what i was most upset about: We're missing out on Armin Van Buuren and DJ Tiesto!!!
Dj Tiesto is only MArch next year, so i have organsied to travel 850 kilometres to go see him.... and i'm sure it'll be worth it!!
We had Ferry Corsten, Tiesto and PVD here in Toronto in a span of 10 days, and we have yet to hear and see Armin on Nov. 10th!!!
I guess there is a God after all... cuz those 3 just tore the damn clubs apart! And after Armin I will take a long break from the whole scene, cuz I've really had a huge overdose of Trance... or at least until these guys return to city for another Trance bash!
Damn...wish I coulda been there to dance to Pappa. His NuBreed is awesome, along with his KissFM set (probably one of the best of the year)...and I know that a lot of foreign DJ's are having trouble now getting gigs in the US due to Visa problems w/ the INS and all.
Ferry was awesome that night, he was so pumped up & into the party, it was amazing. My GF & I were picking up on the tracks before anybody else seemed to as well. But we were way down on the dance floor, were you up chilling behind him ?
why are people so obsessed with calling DJ's gods?
yeah......I mean some of them are amazin'........but fuck.......it's too much to call them god........I'm not a very religious person.....but if anything the music is god......not any mortal.....
I think that ppl call DJ's gods because for that one nite in your life the DJ controls most of what happens in the club. If the DJ drops the right tunes then you can have the time of your life. There is a reason why ppl love DJ's so much, and that's because even though all they do is play and mix records they are able to take the entire crowd on a musical journey. PVD is GOD because of all the great nites that I've had when he is on the decks...no other DJ has come close to the kinda state that PVD's sets have put me in.
I'd rather say those producers like Dumonde, Corsten, Tiesto and who knows who else.. everyone has his favourites, I think THEY are the gods, without their minds there wouldn't be such great music.
I kinda agree with JDamage..
In all honesty i often cringe just a tad when i hear people refer to DJ's as God's. I'm sorta thinking -- get some perspective fellas.
Even though it's probably just another way of saying "You guys are good, you make me feel great" i can't help but cringe every time i hear it. (and i'm not a religious person btw)
glad you had a good time. I wish i went to see him when he came to toronto

Ok, how about I put it this way, since I remember me and a couple of my buddiez coming up with this theory a while ago:
The Dj is our God, the Music is our religion, and the Club is our church!
Now if you're a true trance addict, just try and tell me you sometimes don't feel this way too!
Cmon peoples!! For goodness sake, i didnt mean they were gods as in from out of this world or anything, and its not as if i worship them ffs. I mean it METAPHORICALLY! Do you think i shouldve named this thread:
"Ferry is really good"
It just doesnt have the same ring to it does it? And on that night Ferry was in control, he MADE all of us had a great time, and the music was very powerful. Go see and experience Ferry with hundreds of other screaming fans hearing the music you love played so loud you can't hear yourself talk....then come back and have your say.
as a matter of fact......I have partied with hundreds ofpeople at a ferry show.........I loved it.........so much......
I do feel like it's a religion.......but it's just my opinion......and that is that I do not worship the DJ; okay.......I worship the music.....and the feelings.............
to tell you the truth; even if I didn't feel in any way that it was a religion......you still cannot say that I'm not a true tranceaddict.....who are you to say this.........
anyways......no offense sorry for being aggresive....but the are no absolutes.....you can call a DJ god if you want......do whatever makes you happy....I just think it's unnecessary........that's my opinion.
l8ts
oh yeah........can the club be a mosque or a synogogue as well?
