Efx 500 - Djm 600 - Dz1200

I just ordered my EFX 500 and I am wondering how it is hooked up to my current system:

2 Technics 1200M3Ds
2 Technics DZ1200s
Pioneer DJM-600

I know it connects to the send and return... I guess my main question is that it appeared in the video that Zabiela made that the EFX500 was controlling the CDJ-1000s he was using. Is this right? Like, when he played around with the EFX500, his CDJs acted as they were controlled by slowing down and whatnot. I have noticed there is a control plug in the back of my DZ1200s. Is that what it is for?

JZ simply made a loop from a 4/1 echo and then took the CD out of the player to demonstrate the EFX was playing the loop and that it could be modified from there with the adjacent wheel. The EFX-500 is an FX processor and does not 'control' the CDJ.
