Posted by Redd on Jan-19-2005 18:34:

Replace 'mc' with 'US' and it probably makes more sense.

Posted by ZxZDeViLZxZ on Jan-19-2005 18:37:

why the fuck would it be called mc trance or mc prog..... and us shit sucks 90% of the time just like any other country...

Posted by ZxZDeViLZxZ on Jan-19-2005 18:40:

why not just call it shit .... seriously and what the fuck does mc have to do in relation to us its nott even an acronym(sp)

REGRESSIVE TRANCE

backwardly evolving music appealing mainly to americans and many people who haven't seen the 1990s. Involves lots of coldharbours, mike foyles, 'mile high nights' Gabriel & Dresden perry o'neil and awfully produced drivel. Rivals the stuff from labels like somatic sense, anjunabeats & armada who are the same plague on trance

There is no way you could've missed out on this when there is a search function on these forums.

Because they'd say the exact same thing as you'd find by using the search function. Nice attitude by the way.

McTrance!

As far as I know, I was the first person to start calling it that, somewhere around early 98 or so, to refer to the cheaply made mass-marketed, mass-produced trance that used the same template over and over again, clogging all the record pools. Like fast food. Hence: McTrance. Quality sacrificed in favour of sheer quantity.

And then two years later I came out with this:

Your searches won't find that!

Well done, you actually credited Ishkur this time.

I hear Pavlov ringing his bell... Who will be first to answer its siren like call?

Mr. Yokota is a man of great musical talent, it is true! I like his Ebi work as much as his early Harthouse trance forays!

I agree. I still haven't gotten Sakura though, shame on me.

A shame indeed! As for this early Japanese Trance, I do not know the full story, but a short version tells that Sven Väth met Mr. Yokota in GOA around '92-93, where Mr. Yokota gave him various DATs containing some of his music. These tapes impressed Sven, so he signed some tracks and albums to Harthouse! I wish there were a way to know the whole tale however.

I seem to recall he was the first asian to ever play at the Berlin Loveparade. His meetings with Väth explains that I guess.

"Mc" means "bad for your l33t image".

Wow, I remember when I came up with this McProg nonsense about a year ago. I've been away from TA for a while and I'm surprised with how this term has caught on.

McProg is one of the reasons why TA turned me off for the past half year. Too many Markus Schulz and ASOT whores made this place boring, because most of their music is overprocessed biodegradable supersaw junk. Even Tijs started to play a few of these tracks, and that really scared me. LOL. Oh well, hello everyone.

I would not doubt it! Though I did not know Mr. Yokota was a Disk Jockey at any time. As for Loveparade, I wasn't there of course, but I heard a recording of Sven's set in 1991, and he dropped none other than Curare - Schneller Pfeil! A year before its official release, if the dates be correct. Not surprising, considering his label position and his relationship with Mr. Hildenbeutel! What a classic Loveparade moment!

Now if only you started threads with as friendly topics as these, TA might just be a tiny bit better place to be.
