Pocket Rocket - Shore Thing [256kbps]

I'm a man of few words (because it usually takes me hours to write a few sentences), so all I'll say is that this is a mellow, drifty dreamy kind of track in a housey style ideal for beach-based listening. Hence the title, sea.

Pocket Rocket - Shore Thing

Thanks for listening.

Great track! Very subtle! Do you know the In Search of Sunrise series of Dj Tiesto or the Live at Ibiza cd of Armin van Buuren? This is that kind of track. The title fits exactly to the track.

No big leads (I seem to always make tracks with a big lead) but just a nice driving bass and a subtle melody. The sound is also crisp and the mixing is good. Maybe the stringpad could be a little louder because it is now very very far away. (but that does give the beachy feeling)

The beat is also very well done, it is a more clubby beat. Overall I am very impressed with the whole track. I have been listening to a lot of tracks from "amateur" trance producers and this is really one of the best!

Cheers!

Solid track yet again, great subtle sound to it all. Would make a nice leadin track.

don't like the bassline
other than cannot find fault whatsoever, superb track
took me forever to download it though

**run naked on the beach while listening to your song**

Impressive housy work. It's weird but my favourite drum is the clap ! Top notch !

the shakers remind me a bit the Probspot's style... The bassline is indeed a bit too 'digital' or 'analogic', it will be warmer if you have a sort of 'real' bassline, fretless for example.

PS : it's not good to steal the title of a FX Reason Subtractor preset !

Thanks guys, I'm glad you like the track.

Posted by TOR on Jan-21-2005 09:59:

lovely sound you've got going on there..

the mix needs some work though. percussion + bassline = too loud, the rhodes and the pads do not stand out enough..

Posted by DRM on Jan-21-2005 15:27:

really like this mart its got such a nice vibe to it

only possible changes are the bass has a good groove to it but maybe make each not longer so it flows a little better instead of each note stopping suddenly.

Also like others have said the leads do get a little over powered by the bass n percussion but not by much. maybe turn them up a touch

excellent work tho mart

Very nice elements in here. Good to here some clubhousy influences over here.
Isn't there a tad too much distortion on the bass?
Nice phaser on the strings in the second break. Gives a very special touch. The track needs it cause there isn't that much going on, it's all the same. 3 minutes of it would be enough.. An intermezzo part at some point would be nice. I only see beach now in the clip, but maybe I want to dive, or some dancing chicks, or cocktails... you know

Rest is very good. Clean production, love it.

Awesome track man, you should definitely send this off to the peeps at Hed Kandi.

This is such a popular sound on the west coast.

Just reiterating my thoughts from IRC, this is nice stuff. Nice summery Ibeethan goodness

Loving everything on this track except the bass synth. There just something about it.

Its fine in the middle, but when its introduced, it just sounds out of place or something.

Good stuff though mate

The intro is nice, subtle, house-style. It's nice to listen to, I like it.
The bass is very nice, liked it.
Until the break the beat gets kinda repetitive, I think you should add more percs there during the intro till the break.
Subtle and nice fx are going in the background.
The melody is nice, liked the piano and the pads, but it's really really really, REALLY, weak, compared to the beat and the bass.
Well overall I think it's a good track, really nice and kinda relaxing

first thing that came to mind was weekend players minus the lyrics... then abercrombie and fitch...

it could do with being a little bit slower though

Lovely tune Mart! Very relaxing stuff, and it sounds very pro.

I'm currently working on my ruined version of this, which should be finished some time between now and the next Ice Age.

The drums are very exotic, for sure! And therefore, it's good to listen to while being out in the sun. I have one suggestion though, because the bass sounds kinda messed up. Each time the kick and the bass interferes (plays at the same time) you should turn the volume on the bass down. Or maybe you've already compressed them together.. Nevertheless, it's very relaxing. I like it!

Cool tune MaRt indeed

Nice and summery - just one suggestion,Increase volume of the pads. Other than that - nicely made!

Thanks again for your feedback, peeps! You may be glad to know that I already have a follow-up in the works, but I've no idea when it will be finished.

Sounds very classy! After getting a foot of snow it doesn't quite fit the vibe around here, but it's wishful thinking.

I don't really mind the bass. Lots of great sounds in here, very pro. Great housey vibe, I love it.
