Your judgement wanted: Nomen Nescio - Nomen's Land

Hey tranceaddicts,

I am new to this forum so I am not sure what to expect. First of all I have been a trancefan since way way back. Since a few months I have been working on my own tracks.

I have reached a point now where I dare to ask for some feedback
So I am hoping there are a few trancelovers here who are willing to do just that for me.

A few tracks of mine are ready for listening at:

http://www.soundclick.com/bands/1/nomennesciomusic.htm

Nomen's Land is the track which pleases me the most. It is a State of Trance type of track, a fast energizer. I would appreciate any feedback, so come on guys suprise me Also feel free to judge my other two tracks.

All the tracks are in 128 kb/s so the quality is not top notch. And I could only put up the first 10 mb for listening so these are not the complete versions (the mix out time misses)

Looking forward to your replies!

Cheers from rainy Holland,

Nomen Nescio

ok, i loved the song, but I was really expecting a bit more around 3:45. The bass drum kicked in, but I felt like I was let down. Just needs a fuller sounding, maybe high synth line or filter to keep the energy up there. I really did like the song, that's the only part that stood out to me as being "hollow" maybe.

Thanks Blizzz, any ideas/ suggestions on what kind of filter? A high synth line is a bit risky since I am not overly pleased with the EQ'ing I have done so far. I think there is already a bit to much emphasis on the highs.

Eq'ing and mastering, hmmzz wish I had an engineer who did all this for me haha. Just kidding, the challenge is in getting to know most of the stuff yourself, right?

I knew that song sounded familiar...
Hehe it kinda has a similar riff to Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers - Last dance with mary jane

Listening to it again right now... i listened to it at work, and couldn't get the true bassdrum effect...
Still feels a little empty, i think a bit more in the bassline would be nice. Now what about throwing in a second much slower melody, not neccessarily a piano, but something with a nice ring to it that can break up the synth nicely?

I really like this song alot.

First of all, it makes me happy that you like the track. I already had the compliment that it sounds like a track Armin would play so my day is quite good

To answer your question, I had a slower melody to counter the leadsynth but what it did was bring down the energy of the song. Instead at the end of the song at 7.26 I put in an extra riff an octave higher, which follows the original lead but in a slightly different pattern. This riff gives an extra climax.

About piano's, anyone knows a good piano VST, useable for dance?

Cheers!

And ps: I have never heard of the song you referred too, so I was not copying

Still hoping for more feedback Too bad when you are new here the senior and supreme addicts don't give any feedback .

Had some good respons though, even have some amateur Dj's who want to spin my track
Biggest compliment possible of course.

Does anyone think this track fits in the Armin van Buuren (when heDj 's) sound? I would very much like to get it signed by Armada or Blackhole haha

Cheers!
