Question Alphazone lead in Vanguard

Any 1 know how to make a Alphazone lead-sound (like in Phalanx rmx of "Revelation")in Vanguard? Manuel Schleis (Phalanx) says, that he used 3 Vanguards with "Alphalead" preset. I was trying this, but not even get close to the original sound. Is there some external fx added, or something? Help me please!

HERE YOU CAN DOWNLOAD A SAMPLE

that's an awesome track.. everytime I listen to it, though, I can't help but think how much better it woulb be if it wasn't done with Vanguard

Try using a lot of compression and EQing

use 3 detuned sawtooths. Compress the hell out of it. Eq one by rolling off high and mid freqs, the second, low and high freqs, and the third roll off low freqs. Add reverb and a little bit of delay and you got it.

thanks Merlot - i will check this out, but question is: "how to make that sound using 3 of Vanguards" - i mean exactly that, how phalanx did it. anyway thanks for tips

if he said he used 3 alphalead presets then create a stack of 3 vanguards. select alphalead on all of them. give them all separate FX channels. adjust the filter cutoff and detune on 1, 2 or all of them till you get a similar timbre as the lead in the demo. polish off by compressing part or all of the timbres, again using your ear. perhaps a touch of EQ just to finalise it and/or use your own reverb and delays if vanguards doesnt meet your needs. i honestly dont know what else to say. if you still cant get that sound, he either lied (although unlikely if it came from the horses mouth so to speak) or you just stacked 3 unmodified presets together and expected it to sound just like that demo. even if he did use those presets he probably did modify them somewhat or produce it a little bit so that it sits well in the rest of the track. that said, hes got so much top end on that lead that it kills all his hihats - ha! i remember making that mistake a good few months ago in my own tracks. thanks to pho mo, i dont do that anymore...

I just loaded the revelation midi and the standard alphalead is pretty much there. Ontop of that however you need ALOT of eqing to get it sounding like that sample.

Wish I had more then just the demo of vanguard tho lol
