Audioscrober is a plugin for winamp that will display all your tracks that you listen to and make a top with most played artists and tracks. it`s nice if ya wanna share your taste with others.

Just because I like trance doesn't mean it's the only style of music I like.

I stopped using the plugin when it kept crashing Winamp just because it couldn't connect to AudioScrobbler at certain times.

why the hell would i want to let other people know what i prefer or touches me? what i listen to is personal and deep. i'm not trying to make converts out of muggles.

no offence, but it seems like a really lame thing to do. add that to the list that includes:
-putting stickers of your favourite bands on you car for the whole world to see
-wearing t-shirts with your favorite artists

Posted by nettwerk on Jan-24-2005 01:05:

I would use it if I didn't have all my MP3's on the playlist, playing randomly.

That issue has been resolved. I stopped using it for awhile too, because of that problem.

You are totally missing the point i guess. This is supposed to allow you and other people to discover new music. I think finding more and more music that you enjoy can only be a good thing. Maybe you don't, but then why bother posting?

All my mp3s are on a playlist playing randomly. Audioscrobbler tracks what music you listen to as you listen to it.

Looks like i'll be the first one to actually answer the post. My profile is in my sig

i can get the same list by typing 'music' at amazon.

i think the only ones doing any 'discovering' are marketing companies knowing what music is popular and who is playing compressed and uncompressed music.

That artist recommendation looks interesting, almost like musicplasma.com

I'll give it a try

Posted by travbrad on Jan-24-2005 03:10:

Artist recommendations, a feature that recommends you artists based on what you have listened to, also the network feature which shows you other users who listen to similar music as you. There are also forums where you could ask for recommendations. There are even personal radio stations where you can hear full versions of every song a user listened to.

You've already made up your mind that you're not going to use it, so why keep posting in an AUDIOSCROBBLER thread when you don't use it and don't plan to?

Posted by CygnusX on Jan-24-2005 21:22:

I always wanted to know what tracks/artists I listen to most and this makes it very easy. Plus it's a great way to discover new music (by checking people that have similar taste). Plus the newest feature (the weekly personal chart) is really cool
