after the movies, 1:30am driving, going like 20km/h, make a turn, BOOM! cars right in a snow bank, front wheels off the ground and its a front wheel drive. 20minutes later digging it out and freezing, got it out, got the snow out of the front air intake holes, and drove home lol

about a year ago i was on my way to fredericton and my flight was a connecting flight through montreal and there was a delay due to the weather in toronto and by the time i got to montreal i had missed my connecting flight to fredericton. that was the last flight of the day so i had to book a spot on the first plane the next day, that meant that i had to spend money on a hotel and spend the night in montreal. (air canada claimed no respsible for the delay and said it was due to the weather so they could not compensate me).
the next day it was still snowing hard and my flight to fredericton was mega bumpy.

This is my first experience with a snow storm, and I LUV IT!!!! It's so cool!!! I've never driven in snow, but I'm sure it's not too fun, especially since you can't see 10 ft ahead of you right now!!

After the storm dies down, I want to build my first snowman!!

beer bogginin, tabeerganing, taboozin, there will be plenty of that tonight. I remember snow days like this in highschool, we would go and get a case of beer and roll some spliffs, put on the heavy duty snow proof out fit, goggles and all and go hiking

Im sitting here at work and no one is coming in, WASTE OF TIME! I should be at home in bed!

Remind me never to drive with you in the winter.

I'm glad I've got these puppies on my ride:

Much love for Blizzak WS50s.

York Region snow removal trucks/tractors for sidewalks in my area are SO inconsiderate this year. Previous years, they would always clear areas for street crossings, bus stops etc. This year has been horrendous in terms of MASSIVE pile ups in front of the bus stops, at the intersections and no cleared sidewalks. They actually pile the snow up on the sidewalk in some areas. Theres this one stretch of bayview, where pedestrians have to walk along bayview on the sidewalk over highway 7 to get to the high way 7 bus stop. The snow from the road was just left all on the sidewalk, making people have to walk on the street right on bayview. I dont know whos supposed to take care of stuff like that, but hell, i take the lame ass public transportation and they should clear this crap up!

again, doesn't say exactly how much...does say 15-30cm tho...looks like more than that outside my apartment right now!

It's not really the amount of snow that's the problem, it's the combination of snow and extremely cold temperature. The snow is freezing almost instantly and that's why we're all slipping and sliding around in our cars.

I've got Michelin Alpin's (front and back) and was still having a fun time trying to get around last night. I was going 20 km/h and the car was still skidding - and to make matters worse, all that packed frozen snow in the wells practically disables the brakes. I was doing leg presses on my brake pedal - felt like the equivalent of a 400 lb press for all the force I had to put on it just to slow from 20 to 0. Good thing there was almost nobody else on the road.

This is the first day this winter I can say that driving is *actually* dangerous, for reasons other than the drooling morons who slam on the brakes as soon as they see a snowflake.

roads get plowed
as a pedestrian, its hit or miss if city, buisness or residents shoveled their sidewalk
I dont REALLY want to walk in shin deep snow, but ive got dinner plans for the night. If only I had my sorels...

All this dangerous driving situation talk is making me wonder why I'm sitting at home. I'm heading out for a drive. A toboggan with an engine awaits me in the driveway.

Posted by TrueToTheCrew on Jan-22-2005 21:36:

my biggest frustration with snow storms is the damn snow plows.

My house in on a corner so i have a tonne of snow to clear not including the other tonne from the driveways. Thank god for snow blowers. Anyways, I figured since the plows come by and bury everyones driveways curbs i figured id make a "buffer zone" and cleared approx 1 meter on the road from my curb so when the plow comes by the snow would fill the buffer zone and leave my driveway exit relatively clear.

Plow passes by and it worked like a charm. As i was celebrating my brilliant idea, the bastard in the plow noticed there was room infront of my curb so he brought snow from the other side of the road and placed it in the buffer zone which has left my curbs worse than my neighbours.

Talk about getting fuked.

OMG that is too cute

I have to say i experienced driving a few times when i was in Canada -and once while it was snowing hard, driving my friend's cousins' van because he was drunk. What an experience that was, everything was so opposite for me and my friend said I kept drifting to the left lane LoL I did make it in one piece though
