DJ autographs are they worth anything??

i always see people going crazy to get autographs from dj's...but like athletes or movies stars are they worth anything??

Posted by Billabong on Jan-23-2005 22:32:

Possibly if they were on a record, the majority of people see dj's on a regular basis, it would depend on who it was. But it wouldnt hold the same value as one of those picture frame thingies by a-list actors and musicians.

Posted by beats and beeps on Jan-23-2005 22:37:

No. They are worthless.

Shame / Disagreement

I dont think so....

Posted by Jake Conlon on Jan-23-2005 22:47:

they would be if you got something connected with them thats rare and valuable...

if you had the first and only acetate left on earth of tiesto suburban train and it was signed by him then as hes high profile it would be..

Posted by DarkAngel on Jan-23-2005 22:56:

My autographed vinyls hold sentimental value for me, that is all.

Posted by beats and beeps on Jan-23-2005 22:58:

Well. Some things will have value for a few years. But everything EDM related will probably be worthless in a few decades.

Posted by AndskiSpeed on Jan-23-2005 22:59:

Any old thomas, richard or harriet could sign a vinyl and pretend its signed by Tiesto

Posted by Spacey Orange on Jan-23-2005 23:03:

the correct answer is maybe. the value of the autograph is how much you pay for it or sell it. this is dependant on how much someone (or many) is willing to pay for it, the amount of similar autographs on available for sale and how many people want it.

for instance the tiesto autograph on e-bay link is selling for 49.99. That's not to say though that you or anyone else would pay 49.99. You may pay more or you may pay less. the value is not 49.99 until someone pays 49.99 for it.

BTW that's you selling that aren't you? if that's the case, lower the price cos i don't see any bids.

Posted by Radagast on Jan-23-2005 23:08:

Yeah, if the DJ is one of these:

Grandmaster Flash
Grand Wizard Theodore
Kool Herc
Ron Hardy
Larry Levan
Juan Atkins
Frankie Knuckles

.....

........

Wait, scrap that. Those wouldn't be worth anything either. Just get an autograph from DJ Jazzy Jeff, Boy George, Paris Hilton, or Miachel Douglas' son, now those might be worth something.

Or not.

Posted by Krypton on Jan-23-2005 23:11:

they are good sentimentally, but that's it.

Posted by Zombie0915 on Jan-24-2005 00:27:

If I have lots fun at a party I'll try to find a flyer of it and get the DJ to sign it.

I don't think I'll ever sell them though.

I dont have any big DJ's autographs, its way too hard fighting the crowd to get one, and I'd much rather have an autograph from a more accessible person anyway.

Maybe one day somebody will get really big and one of the flyers will be worth lotsa money cuz they all have dates on them and stuff, I prolly still wouldnt sell it though.

I use them more as a fun way to remember those nights

Posted by Nell on Jan-24-2005 00:54:

who the hell would want something which wasnt signed for them? pretty sad if you do...

sentimental value only, autographs are a personal thing.

Posted by darkace on Jan-24-2005 03:26:

They are worthless. They are not necessarily value-less though.

Posted by DampCold on Jan-24-2005 08:29:

I never really got the point of getting autographs, but if you could find some fanatic you may be able to sell it, but highly unlikely.

Posted by varun on Jan-24-2005 09:39:

Unless you get the autograph on something that you intend to keep for a long time and something that dosen't get worn out/destroyed easily(Vinyl would be the best), it is pointless.
Armin autographs mobile phones dosen't he? How the hell does he manage to do that?

Posted by razzi on Jan-24-2005 12:31:

i have 2 oakenfold and 1 tiesto autograph on tickets from their shows. they probably arent worth anything, but theyre nice to have and remember the nights with.

razzi.

Some items actually can decrease in value if they are signed, due to they are no longer considered mint condition becuase of the signature.

Posted by noikeee on Jan-24-2005 13:56:

i've got a vinyl signed by... mark otten, is that worth anything?

Posted by keithos27 on Jan-24-2005 14:41:

i've seen some autographs for sale on ebay before, so i guess they are worth something to some people. i have a crap load of dj autographs, but it's mostly for sentimental purposes. always nice to get your favorite vinyl autographed by the producer or something. i've also gotten tickets autographed...
