T1 : Bravo! This mix is pretty damn good! A+
T2 : This mix was too quick, the vocals start way too early, harmonics is do-able but the vibe of the 2 tracks are very different for them to work well together. C-
T3 : EQing needs work on this mix. Phrasing/Timing is off big time too. Too early once again. This mix was worse than the one previously. D-
T4 : Nope this one doesn't work either. Period. D-
T5 : Phrasing/Timing is off once again. Too early, vocals come in during the middle of the transition, very very bad. F
T6 : No No No... F
T7 : My faith has been lost again, D
T8 : This one is much better but still not great. C-
T9 : Kinda sorta, but no once again. C
Transitions :: I was very happy to hear such a fluid and great transition in the beginning but then it just went downhill from there. Transitions still need tons of work. At least you can beatmatch. Your Harmonics and most importantly your Phrasing needs lots of work!
Flow/Structure :: Eh, flow was ok, however Track 1 and Track 2 fit well together they didn't fit with Track 3 and beyond.
Track Selection :: Good track selection in terms of taste. For a mix well that would be getting back to structure so just fit tracks that sound alike and work with that for now.
Overall :: This is not a HUGE improvemet, perhaps a small one. Practice practice practice! I would suggest finding a set by a good dj that have your taste in music and try to reproduce that set, that might help you understand phrase/timing a little bit better.
Keep practicing, and keep the mixings coming, I'm still rooting for you!
judging by the above critique as well as skimming thru a littl bit of the mix, i'd say you really do need to work on how to make an entry to a nother track. as well as a bit of EQ work. i wouldnt worry about tracklisitng yet just work on how to master the mixer and feel the music slide into each other. thats when even you as the dj can amaze yourself.
I'll speak with you on MSN about this set tomorrow Nick.
