Miss Jones, et al

A friend of mine recently sent me a copy of the tsunami song!!!

WOW!!!! Incredible!!! I love how you really lay it on to the Indonesian children.

Could you write a song about those scumbag Americans that got their arses kicked by those airplanes that rammed into those buildings? Or maybe those that died in the mudslide?

YEAH! Something like: "RUN BITCH RUN!!! YOUR NIKE'S CAN'T SAVE YOU NOWWW!!! THE MUD IS COMING DAWG"

Hey, maybe a song about the kids who died in the Oklahoma City bombing? Yeah, that'd be sweet.

Well, chances are you probably won't write anything about any of these things. Those might be sensitive issues right? Or maybe you are just a racist piece of shit.

Get a fucking education.

p.s. hip hop sucks. s club 7 has more integrity than your entire fucking genre.

I wouldn't expect any less from people that brought smackfest to NY. Wonder how they would have felt about a 911 song. To quote Dave Chappelle, they are acting "mad ******ish". Enough said...

To whom it may concern,

I just heard the rendition of the tsunami song by the morning crew. I just loved it... send me whatever you guys did on 911 and the WTC collapsing and people jumping out the windows. I can't seem to find it on the net. You guys are geniuses... NOT!! Perfect reason as to why you fucking Americans are so loved in this world. I sincerely hope anyone involved with this shit you guys like to label as humor is haunted by the tsunami victims for the rest of their lives. Oh by the way, FUCK YOU.

Sincerely,

Glad Im not one of your regular listeners.

Yes... fight racism with racism...

That'll teach em!

I don't suppose anyone here has noticed the irony in writing hate mail to a station that you'd never listened to before in your life until someone told you to listen to this bit and write them hate mail?

I now proclaim this land the Capital of Complaining. You guys just crave drama and conflict, don't you?

I didn't even listen to it and I don't intend to, I'm sure it's every bit as bad as people are saying. But why write hate mail when you're not even a casual - let alone regular - listener? This didn't affect you AT ALL until you chose to poke your nose into it.

Protesters...

This was clearly a publicity stunt, and you're all playing right into it.

Is there ANY doubt as to why Americans laugh at our claim that compared to them, Canadians are a polite and civil people?

It's really very amusing to listen to people who claim that our politeness makes us a superior culture and then proceed to behave this way...

Posted by Tordan on Jan-24-2005 06:11:

Oh, get off your high horse Aaron. You have no clue what it feels like to listen to shit like that tsunami song especially when you used to live in a country that was affected by it. I don't regret writing them hate mail even though I'm not a regular listener. I don't need to be one to know that what they did was wrong.

First of all, I don't see how that's relevant to the point I made. Secondly, it's well-known that Americans are ignorant about Canada, but why wouldn't they be, considering where Canada stands on the global relevance scale? Americans have a pretty good idea how Brits and Swedes live - they just don't give a flying fuck about Canadians.

And here we have lawyers, doctors etc., who don't know how to add up numbers AND don't know how to speak a bloody single word of English. How's THAT for eye popping?

my doctor seems fine with his english.

But does speaking a language make him diffrent?

As long as he can do his job it shouldnt matter what language he/she speaks?

This is an English- and French-speaking country. In any profession where you have to communicate with other people, you cannot do your job properly unless you speak one of those languages, FLUENTLY.

Maybe a dishwasher can get away with having no language skills, but in most cases, it severely impedes job performance. I've heard stories about TAX AUDITORS who couldn't speak a word of English - it took them two months to complete an audit that should have taken a few hours, and they ended up screwing everything up.

Oh - and I'm sure your doctor speaks beautiful English, but poor communications skills in Canadian professions are as much a reality on the general level as poor math skills in American professions.

Posted by The Highroller on Jan-24-2005 06:27:

Why do you feel it necessary to defend America and Americans in nearly every thread pertaining to them, Aaron?

Just curious.

thats a joke but ok

but bottom line is this- i dont see anything wrong as long as he does his job. He/she may even hire a secratary with nowdays a lot of them, they can translate!

but ok if your saying this, then they shouldnt allow immigrants from other countries who dont speak french? it impedes their jobs as well your telling me?lol

anyhow, your a big politician anyhow on TA.

becuase he is a suck up thats why

Posted by raveed on Jan-24-2005 08:09:

its pretty obvious these guys are pulling these stunts for publicity sakes ... get a bunch of people to start protests maybe get some media coverage and all of a sudden ratings are up and lot more people tuned in ..itl be a better idea to write a diplomatic letter to them enlightening their ignorant asses as to just how serious the tragedy was and how many lives were lost.... protesting might just end up doing them more good than harm and i didnt post this thread to start a riot of some sort rather just show the way some americans think ... but yea i would like to see some of them dare to make something on 9/11 or even the war in iraq for that matter..
