Ronaldo can't play

I seen a last couple of Manchester game and Ronaldo just can not hit the post. How many more chances will he miss?

Fancy footwork but no results

Why would he want to hit the post?

Posted by hardstyle on Jan-25-2005 04:47:

ok

I mean he can't even hit the post, i wonder how many goals he will miss becouse he cant hit the target

Posted by Billabong on Jan-25-2005 10:37:

Are you insane, his scored in like the last 2-3 games. His not an outright goal scorer anyway. Its called "bad luck".

Posted by SPANIARD on Jan-25-2005 16:20:

To sum him up, he does 5 step overs with knowone covering him and passes back to the keeper. I won't deny when the team is playing well you see a good side of him, but vs. Milan will be a big test to see how he plays when things most likely won't be going well....

He should focus more on NOT falling to the ground so easily.

Its Manchester UNITED, not 'Manchester'. And I don't know what games you were watching because he has scored in the last two.

hes another massivley over-rated player.

Hes crossing is brutal, which should be what a winger is best at. he beats players with ease, does a few extra step overs to show off, then delivers some of the worst crosses.

Manchester united vs Chelsea, manchester united vs Exeter ,Manchester United vs Aston Villa , he missed more then he scored.

do name one striker who scored more than he missed ... i think even pele is entitled to relinquish his title as the greatest player to have ever played the game to the player(s) you referring to

I think what he's tying to say is that he finds Ronaldo lacking effect with his oppurtunities(correct me if I'm wrong).

I'll cut the kid a beak because he's young but from a more nuetral stand point I see a kid who knows how to control a ball amazingly but lack the touch of passing a defender. In Rooney I see a natural born star, it's frightening to think how good he'll be when he's 25 or so.

Cristiano Ronaldo , he should have done acting or something because that's all he knows to do unfortunately

Posted by razmataz on Jan-27-2005 11:05:

Ronaldo is gifted beyond his years. To pass effortlessly pass defenders like that and control a ball at that speed when you are so young at the highest level shouldn't be taken for granted.

He is not a natural goalscorer but a playmaker and in that regard he opens up play rather well and contributes to counter attacks with his blistering pace. Also has a good free kick in him but he needs to fine tune that along with his crossing. I don't see why at 25 he would not be in the running for world player of the year awards.

I would agree with you before. But while he's still not a Figo or a Beckham at their prime, i think he's getting better at crossing now.

I'm obviously biased since this guy is the best football player to have ever come out of this island, but while he's still not the most effective player atm, he seems to have the potential to get there. He's a good header as he proved on the euro and a fairly good finisher (though he needs to be a bit more consistent especially in long shots, yesterday most of the long shots were quite weak). Most importantly, while he's still an individual player, he's grown a lot in terms of teamwork since he left Sporting. An easy way to notice that is comparing him to Quaresma, Sporting's wonderkid one season before Ronaldo (he's now at Porto after a bad season in Barcelona). That guy is incredibly skilled as well, but just won't ever pass the ball to anyone and will never go back to help the defence. Ronaldo has matured a hell lot more in those aspects.

That more or less sums up what I was about to say

I CANT STAND Ronaldo (HATE ManU) but the guy's got all
kinds of skill....
IMO, he's much better than the original Ronaldo (Real),
cause hes just been SOOO overrated.

Uhh, no. Ronaldo from Brazil is champion of the world right now. How many times has Cristiano been champion of the world with his team?

Don't get me wrong, this young kid has a future. But let's be real, Ronaldo is a whole different thing.

that's not a very good argument.. any player would have a much bigger chance of being a world champion with brazil than with portugal. and the brazilian has been playing for about a decade, while the portuguese is on his 3rd or 4th season at senior level i think. i have to agree however that the brazilian has proven several times to be a world class player unlike cristiano, and that he's still overall a better player - even if they cannot be compared very well directly since they play in different positions.

You're right. But I had to do that because the comment I quoted compared the two Ronaldos, something that is obviously hard to do and hard to make sense out of.
