Rocket scientist needed UWTECH UA40 AMP

HI JUST GOT MYSELF ANOTHER NEW AMP ITS A UWTECH AUDIO UA40 2K RMS AT 4 OHMS .. MY PROBLEM IS I AINT GOT NO MANUAL FOR THE FRIGGIN THING!!! Ive tried searching the net to no avail. The reason i need a manual is : there are setting switches on the back that i dont understand .. 1:mode :gives u 3 choices first is "bridged" then "stereo" then here's the one i dont understand "parallel" ???
The other thing i need help understanding is the compression sensitivity switch: choices are "1.44V"... "1V"and "0.7V" is there any way i can relate these settings to a threashold in db . im gona test it proper like at a 24hour party this weekend so wish me luck !!!! ziggx

Parallel can mean two things:
a) Parallels the inputs -- you plug a signal into the left or right channel and its played on both the left and right channels.
b) Parallel bridged outputs -- Usually found on older crown amps, this mode will allow you to drive low impedance loads by paralleling the output stages. Unlikely this is the case.

I would guess it's the first one. try plugging in something to the first channel, putting it in parallel, then see if there is the same signal on both output channels. if so, its a. if not, its probably b.

thats just your input sensitivity. 0.7v, which is likely 0.775, is usually considered "-10db" (aka standard line level for consumer goods) ... 1V is considered "0dbv" as its referencing one volt of audio signal. this is common on "high end" consumer audio equiptment. 1.4v is generally termed "+4db" and is common on balanced outputs of pro audio equiptment.

Personally, i'd set it to 1.4v and crank up the mixer. assuming the mixer has a hot final audio stage. if the mixer is "cold" (like most cheap boxes) or distorts at higher outputs, use the 0.7v or 1.0v setting.

in all reality, experiment and see what sounds best. just be careful of clipping and distortion.
