Posted by dj chex on Jan-25-2005 10:04:

it all depends on what mixers your comparing.

Posted by MrMarcellos on Jan-25-2005 10:17:

Lets say the behringer djx700 ( analog ) or the numark dxm 06 ( digital )

The dxm06 is a pretty good mixer especialy for its price

Posted by MrMarcellos on Jan-25-2005 10:40:

What do u use?

Posted by T-Soma on Jan-25-2005 11:30:

I dont have a preference between analog and digital but i dont think their is a big diference all i can think of is less crackaling from faders and im not even sure if thats true. Im sure their are plently people here who can answer your question better then i can, so juz wait for them to come online

Posted by MrMarcellos on Jan-25-2005 11:31:

ok lets hope they are fast

almost cant wait to buy a new one

Posted by T-Soma on Jan-25-2005 11:36:

But i dont think you should base your purchase on wether its analog or digital, you have a price or any mixers in mind?

If there is one thing I've learnt over the past few months about mixers from reading stuff here, its that the DJX 700 sucks serious monkey balls.

(Thats not personal experience though, I'm another satisfied Vestax PCV-275 user)

Ive never used an analog mixer, but on my dxm03 the sound is very clear and ive heard things about digital being more clear on the sound side of things.

I'm thinking of buying the NUMARK DXM-06 DIGITAL MIXER

Good? 265 euro now..

be consistent.
Cds + digital mixer = digital all the way. Less susceptible to noise
vinyl + analog mixer = no unnecessary a/d conversions.
My personal opinion: If you're spending loads of $ on vinyl records why use a digital mixer.

Posted by djsphere on Jan-25-2005 14:03:

Well, if it goes down between those 2 mixers get the numark.

It doesn't really matter. Digital ones come with more gay effects if you like emm buy one.

Basicly don't use it as a way of picking. Anyone saying don't pick either digital or analog because of the differnce in sound is on some weak ground unless your talking about spending alot of money. And are going to have a conditioned room to retire to and soak in the greatness of seriously expensive gear.

In fact if you had that money you could employ someone to tell you which is better. (I'm ehh "semi" available at the moment, interweb only service.)

In conclusion, as others have said it doesn't matter.

Got the numark dxm-06 and yes i like the effects !

The Numark was definitely the best choice out of those two mixers. I run an analog mixer and the sound is incredible but you shouldn't base your choice on analog vs digital.
