ETN.fm looking for writers

Be a Writer for ETN!
Like to write?
Like Electronic Dance Music (trance, progressive)?
Would you like to interview talented DJs and producers around the world, write reviews of your favorite albums, or reports about events?
Then read on...
ETN.fm, the new-born child of the merge between ETS-Global and Trancesphere, now one of the biggest radio stations in Trance and Progressive music, is looking for writers to collaborate in doing interviews, news reports, reviews and much more.
If you think you have the stuff of a reporter, and have a true passion for the music, we invite you to apply.
You must have initiative, be able to start and carry on original projects (yes, we don't want you to sit around waiting to be told what to write), and of course, sense of humor and personality won't hurt.
Send us a sample of your writing, and maybe you will be one of the lucky ones chosen for the final selection. The two (or three) who will pass this final stage will become part of our exciting crew, and their writings will be published regularly on the ETN.fm website.
Don't forget to include a brief bio and contact information.
Direct applications to: [email protected], and Good Luck!

Well, check out the lineup of resident Djs and get an idea... but "progressive" is a big term.. many things fall under it, and we have had guests with much varied styles... No, happy hardcore wouldn't be one of them..

If people think its as simple as setting up a website and everyone will bow down, its not. Theres a lot of hard work, and with the growing amount and increasing speed new sites pop up, labels and artists cant find time to support them all.

Could you, like, be more specific at what your point is?
Setting up a Website? This is about getting some fresh News to it. What you say is true thou... It's hardwork, anyone who thinks less, take another minute to think about what you're applying to.

Posted by [B-O-F-H] on Jan-26-2005 13:45:

My point is that there are countless other sites out there that do the usual news / interviews etc. Most just rely on press releases that are sent out rather than creating their own unique and exclusive content. Creating a good site that contains information and news people cannot just read on any old site takes a lot of time and effort. Like you say, its hard work, and is not something people should do if they think they will get lots of free promos and direct contact to the stars as it doesnt quite work that easily.

I think ETN Holds pretty good personal relationships with many of the great Dj's allowing exclusive interviews. I think SillyR is just trying to promote writers to step up and get a little further into the scene, while being able to meet some of the great Dj's and really get to know them on a more personal level. Personally I think this is an amazing opportunity for anyone, I only wish I lived closer to a few bigger cities so I could further benefit from it. Nothing is easy everything comes from work but you will never know until you try....

Cheers

Well, indeed it is hard work, and that's why we are looking for writers. Let me get the record straight: people who apply must have initiative, be available, and bring original ideas. It's important to have a real passion for writing, music, as well as motivation, because you are not gonna get paid
That said, it is a "job" that offers many rewards: have your stuff published on a major radio's web site, get to know DJs and producers, and of course become more in tune with the trance/progressive scene... but who knows what can come out of this in the future. ETN is a new radio station, and it is growing fast...

PS: if you are applying only for the perks or to promote yourself as a DJ... well we will figure that pretty easily

I sended a mail to ETN... I like to write about things that interest me, so well..why not give it a try!

Who really gives about the none existing cash, when you might end up talking to your fav DJ's just for cheer fun? I would pay for that...
I do! everytime I enter a Club

I think this is a great oppurtunity for anyone looking to get more involved with the scene and wanting to have an oppurtunity to join in and help promote that scene.

Lately i've been trying to get a job at some of the DJ magazines such as Mix mag Remixed Mag and a couple of others. When you e-mail them are quick to respond that they would like to see a pitch page and some published writing either with URL's that they can go to or physical writing evidence. I don't have much of that as far as published writing goes, so this is a great oppurtunity for someone who would like to get some of there work published and someone who might be looking for a beggining position that may in the future lead to other possibilities.

They key to making a successful site is catering to what people want. If you make it a clean easy to navigate site, that has content that people can't find anywhere else then people are more likely to visit that site and to cause that site to be sucessful. There are a lot of websites out there but the ones that are really sucessful are those that people visit on a daily basis to update themselves on whats going on with there interests. Personally I visit URL=http://www.slashdot.org]www.slashdot.org[/URL] everday because it has a wide range of news and other things that I can't find as easily or as quickly anywhere else.

push the envelope, that's what I've tried to do with ivibes.nu at times, even tho I work full time and have a g.f. Whether I've achieved my goal, that's up to you lot

I say have fun and try new things, why be like the rest of the sites?

So I Married A DJ was fun while I did that and it was from trying to push new things and it worked well I reckon. If you are going to be a clone of other sites, don't bother but the hardwork is worth it in the end.
