that zabiela (sp??) vid with the efx500

someone posted this zabielia video up the other week, and in it he demonstrated how to use this effect and keep a perfect loop going after the cd has been removed, i havent got the video any more, but it was either delay or echo.

when i try this the sound gets quiter and quieter everytime, has anyone managed to get it to stay perfect yet??

Yea, it was by using the echo to create a feedback loop. The trick for it not to get quieter and quieter is simply to turn the depth all the way up. Voila! It will not degrade.

the signal still degrades for me

ok, ive managed to get it to work, however the next problem......

like zabiela does on the vid once he has got the loop going he then presses the different buttons such as 1/2 a beat, 1 beat, 4 beats
etc....

once i do this i can never get it back to the original loop, it seems to speed it all up

I cant get that to work either.
However his EFX-500 looks different then mine so maybe its a earlier
version of it?

after watching it a few times i have realised that he has the bar looping, and then say on the first beat he hits the 1/4 button, then puts it back to the 4/1 button for the next 3 beats, then when it comes around again he presses the 2/1 button for the 1st beat and then back to the 4/1 so he is only changing the firt beat and over wrting it on every loop.

webbie - have you got a photo of your efx500?

Your efx500 is odd then...because his is normal as far as I can see.

Do you have a picture of it?

Sorry guys, i was getting ready to snap a photo of mine today when i looked at the vid again and noticed that
his looks just like mine but the isolator part of the efx is "hidden" below a shelf. Sorry.
