Sharon: World Didn't Lift A Finger to Stop the Holocaust

"PA"

The world didnt lift a finger to stop the Holocaust, Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon charged today in a speech marking the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz concentration camp.

He called critics of Israeli measures in its struggle against Palestinian militants new anti-Semites.

Sharon said Jews learned a lesson from the genocide that they can only rely on themselves.

Even six decades after Auschwitz was liberated, anti-Semitism still exists throughout the world, Sharon said.

Addressing his parliament in Jerusalem, Sharon said that the image of a Jewish people that defends itself is anathema to the new anti-Semites.

Legitimate steps of self-defence which Israel takes in its war against Palestinian terror actions which any sovereign state is obligated to undertake to ensure the security of its citizens are presented by those who hate Israel as aggressive, Nazi-like steps.

Though decades have passed, the Holocaust is still a prominent part of Israeli culture. About 250,000 survivors of the Holocaust live in Israel, and measures are taken to guard them from traumas.

Works by Richard Wagner, Hitlers favourite composer and a symbol of anti-Semitism, are banned from the state radio and are not performed in public. Often there is pressure to ban movies and plays that might trouble the survivors, and Holocaust images are still a powerful part of political debates.

Recently Gaza settlers, facing evacuation under a government plan, wore orange stars patterned after the emblems Nazis forced Jews to pin to their clothes as a protest against their removal. The campaign set off a major outcry, including complaints from Holocaust survivors, and the settlers relented.

Sharon said that in an age when it is not acceptable to express anti-Jewish ideas directly, those who hate the Jews divert their attacks toward Israel instead.

Sharon said, Many of the manifestations of anti-Semitism in the past years are no longer aimed only at Jews as individuals. Rather, they are aimed at the embodiment of all Jews, the state of Israel, the Jewish state.

In unusually harsh remarks, Sharon noted that when the Nazis began deporting Jews from Hungary to Auschwitz in large numbers in 1944, Allied forces did not bomb the rail tracks leading to the death camp in Nazi-occupied Poland. Sharon said that over a period of several weeks, more than 600,000 Jews from Hungary were killed in Auschwitz.

The sad and terrible conclusion is that no one cared that Jews were being killed, Sharon said.

At the time of the most terrible test, friends and benefactors didnt lift a finger, he said. This is the Jewish lesson of the Holocaust.

The state of Israel has learned this lesson, and since its founding, it has defended itself and its residents, and provides safety to Jews everywhere. We know that we can only rely on ourselves, he said.

For this reason, Israel as the Jewish state must always remain strong, Sharon said.

We must always remember that this is the only place in the world in which we, the Jews, have the right and the power to defend ourselves with our own strength, Sharon said. This we will never surrender.

...if it walks like anti-semite, talks like anti-semite...

Sharon is incredibly predictable. I can't wait for him to croak.

Good, another one steps into the light. I'm trying to get an understanding of how many of you are lurking here. C'mon - don't be shy, let your inner jew hater come out. At least we will know who you are.

Sad... really sad... care to use your own brain for a change? when you're ready - you just might see the light, until then you'll be a blind herd animal in a herd of cancerous beasts.

Altho Sharon is a complete tw@t, and what he said about anti-Israel being the new anti-semitic (see!!!) is bullshit. However, it is sad that he is correct when he said the world did fuck all to help the Jews during WW2 cos nobody did. Sure we went to war with the Nazis (some sooner than others USA...!) but we didn't do it to help the Jews, we did it to help ourselves. We should have gone to war with em when it all started (and we still dont do it even today when we know whats going on!!)

Man you really don't have a fucking clue do you? SO you are saying that disliking Sharon equates to hating Jews huh? Thats interesting, what if I told you that most of the Jewish friends, wait no let me reiterate, BEST friends, some of whom are even Israeli HATE him. What if I told you that my girlfriend of 3 years is Jewish. Oh yeah and what if I told you I went George Washington University where 40% of the student population is Jewish. What would you say then. YOU are a fucking moron.

I'd say that you were quite in a discomfort at the moment????

First thing a racist says "I even have friends!"

Quite honestly, I don't care for Sharon's antics but I do admire the stance he takes on showing the true face of antisemetism in Fance, UN, and EU and other antisemite assylums. He may not be the voice of all the Jews but at least he's doing something to protect them, in whatever way he knows best. To say that you can't wait for his death only tells me that it would be a cause of celebration for you and cause of great concern and sorrow for many Jews.

As far as mingling with "da heebs" - it is the "in" thing to do, ain't it? And how do you think your GF would react to the views you express here? Do you think she'd care? If not - she's not Jew, besides, she's already not a Jew - as copulating with a goyim is a violation of one of our commandments.

Whatever... moving right along...

I think she'd agree that Sharon is a jackass and would agree that he needs to go just like I do. Do you and Paul Wolfowitz exchange notes? Oh wait why would he waste his time with you?

And to show how intolerant and hypocritical you are, refer to your last paragraph. You make wild accusations of anti-semitism yet are so blinded by your intolerance not to realize how utterly anti-nonjewish you are. So now not only is your lack of analysis and comprehension evident but now it has come to light that you are a radical and an intolerant. Do you even talk to non-jewish people? That would have to be my guess seeing as how ready you are to call someone an anti-semite when they don't agree with you.

Posted by NYGblue on Jan-26-2005 18:48:

wait a second, why am i justifying myself here. nevermind, you keep thinking I am anti-semetic... please, I insist, and not only that I will continue to bash Sharon and anyone that is a Zionist, just as I would a any radical nationalist of any country.

It's not my own proclamation - it is one of the 613 "mitzvot" - commandments.

Look, if I misjudged you - forgive me. Your views came off crass without due explanation.

When is it ok to toss insults? please send me detailed instructions, I'd like to follow your lead on that one.

thanks.

Thats fine, being presumptuous won't win you many friends...

I know many of the laws of the Torah. Except those laws are applied more stringently or less so depending on sect, she is in the liberal sect.

Besides I am Catholic and Hispanic, I don't believe there is a law governing who you should marry but I know its frowned upon. My family member's outside of my nuclear family were a bit perplexed by my choice. But I never discriminate against religion, I judge people by their character and nothing more.

of course it does, and if everyone disliked sharon just because he was jewish and for no other reason then they are anti-semitic but they hate for plenty of other reasons.

the thread starter seems to be implying that if you hate sharon, you must be anti-semitic even since he is jewish, whichs is just crazy.

the point of my post is that while open anti-semitism is not as common as it once used to be, it's making a big come back. people who are blind to the problem are only helping it spread.

MLK said something to the effect of "If you're not fighting evil you are helping it". There's roughly about 15 million Jews world-wide - yet no one considers us a "minority". When Jews are oppressed - like poster above said, it's "fuck all". when we stand up for ourselves - we're called Nazis, Zionists, and so on.

You don't have to go far - The lawmakers in Russian parliament proposed a law few weeks ago to outlaw Jewish religion!!!! HOW MUCH MORE ANTISEMITIC IT CAN GET? On which grounds???? Easy - they claimed it was a radical religion!

Hey, when you're down to 15 million folks world wide and a vast portion of the population either wants to wipe you out or doesn't really give a fuck of what happens to you - you'd probably try to defend your ass, won't you?

Now, muslim terrorists go to blow up schools, theaters, markets, etc - yet Judaism should be "illegal"!!!! IS THAT FUCKED UP OR WHAT?????????
Russia selling weapons to Syria - a home of Hammas and when asked says "oh, what's the big deal - they promissed us they won't use it for terrorism!"

Are you shitting me? Look, I don't care what you call it - I call it desparate cry for help. But just like the rest of other times - looks like the job of defending us lies squarely on our shoulders.

So, don't tell me how to act and behave and talk when you're not facing the same situation.

Just shut it... you can not understand it and never will. I bet you never had been beaten by a mob of antisemites, chanting "die kike boy". nor do you have any physical and emotional scars to prove it. nor have you ever been discriminated against, just on basis of your religion. I have. until you experience it first hand - you will not understand.

Yes, I do feel very strongly about my convictions - it's all a product of the world I, and many others like me, live in. So, go ahead - call me a radical.

There you go again Drug Tito, defending to facists!

You don't have to hate just because he has a problem with facists.

Documentations show that already in 1941 the britsh & americans knew about the "final solution" and the extermination proccess.
the fact is, that even when the war was in its final stages, and the united forces cotrolled the air of europe, even then - they did simply nothing to help the jews.
I read once that they flew about 2280 times over Auschwitz concentartion\extermination and bombed targets around it, and havn't dropped a single (!) bomb onto the bridges and railroads that brough people there. altough they were asked to do so again and agian by jewish organiztions (who also havn't tried hard enough i guess).
even in 1944 when the war was almost over, about 700,000 jews were brought in trains from Hungary to Auschwitz and murdered, without any interference of the coalotion.

and the truth is much much deeper and unbelievble, i hope i will find time to open a thread that will sum all the facts about this.

Your frustrations are certainly not without merits. I was appalled by the anti-semitism in France while I was studying in Europe. People getting attacked on the subway, houses and temples being vandalized and the such.

However, just because it is on the rise doesn't mean you have to be a paranoid McCarthy-like worry wart. Look I don't think many people on this board (and I could be wrong) really HATE jews for being jews. I think the people that are very vocal about there dislike of the Israeli government and Sharon do so because of their personal stake in the matter. I mean there were some clear realities on why the civil war of sorts broke out in 2000. It wasn't just because of anti-semitism, though, I am sure that was the case for some. A lot of it was economic, and the political treatment many Palestinians were receiving.

That region has to be the most emotionally charged area in the world. The problems are magnifyingly more complicated than most make it out to be here and in the newspapers, talkradio shows, and news channels. However, I would be careful before accusing people of being anti-semitic. Especially (and I say this as a major generalization and Europeans should not take this as an offense) in the United States and ESPECIALLY in the Northeast. I am not saying it doesn't exist however it isn't prevalent by any means. I come from NJ and numerous elected officials at the state level are jewish, Michael Bloomberg, so on and so forth. You have every right to worry about the rise of anti-semitism but that also doesn't mean that you cry wolf just because people's opinions differ from yours. I for one hold no loyalties to anyone on this matter or any other. I avoid associating with ideologies to give all views fair and equal treatment and though. You should do the same.

Call me paranoid but I am alarmed. If you saw crimes against Hispanics on the rise - I'm sure you'd be vocal about it. US is not as bad as some of the other places, simply because people have other things to do. But it doesn't mean the problem doesn't exist - it does, it's just lurking under the surface.

Of course - Israel is a big bad wolf, because it destroys Palestinian homes. Yet I don't know of a recent time when Israel ventured in the "refugee camps" without a reason. No country would stand by while attacks took place - why should Israel be any different or treated differently? Do you see IDF firing missles unless fired upon or face known/imminent danger?

Double standards against Israel are well known and documented. I am sickened by the ignorance and lopsided arguments that are presented when Israel/Palestinian conflict is discussed. So, I am offering an alternative view at the problem. Using your own words - avoid associating with ideologies and give all views fair and equal treatment. Fair enough?
