The Violet Crown Sessions

Ok, I've been here quite sometime now, and I usually hang out in the Amateur forum to promote these mixes, but since I am from good ol' Texas, I thought I'd bring them over here and shine some light on what I've been doing for the past 3 months.

"The drawing-rooms of one of the most magnificent private residences in Austin are a blaze of lights. Carriages
line the streets in front, and from gate to doorway is spread a velvet carpet, on which the delicate feet of the guests
may tread. The occasion is the entre into society of one of the fairest buds in the City of the Violet Crown."

-O. Henry, October 27, 1894

Started in October of 2004, I introduced my sound The Violet Crown Sessions. In an effort to diversify the
culture of Electronic Dance Music I strive to bring together masterfully produced tracks from todays great
and upcoming artists as well as many of todays existing. These sessions combine ambient, progressive
breaks, and progressive house; as well as other forms of Intelligent Dance Music . Each session is roughly
60 minutes of carefully selected tracks determined to show audiences abroad that dance music isnt just
the music played on the radio, but its still very much underground and very much appreciated by many. So
allow me to open your mind to the grand soundscapes of The Violet Crown Sessions

This kid's stuff is awesome! I had downloaded some of it when he promoted it in the DJ thing. I highly recommend downloading it. The mixes are nothing short of outstanding. I normally don't rave on so much about something, but this guy has skills.

Keep putting out the mixes!

whatever do you mean steve,
i don't edit or delete your posts.
i guess he did it himself.

it was something along the line of long time no see, since AVB in New orleans. don't be a stranger pal...

just 4 more mixes to go.

Steven: thank you for changing your avatar to something less scary

Posted by daydreamer on Feb-01-2005 03:31:

7 through 9

number 8 is your best set here.
it's so good i uploaded to my i-pod.
from begging to end. top notch.
great opener. progression of tracks, mixing. all very well done.

nine has a couple of great tunes, especially the last track.
even though the mixing is still at the level of number 8,
the set just doesn't catch my attention to a point were i need
to put it on repeat.

number 7 is were you lost me.
i guess you were experimenting or going for something different, but
the opening is just not my thing i guess.
even though the set does pick up towards the middle,
the first few tunes just don't care for at all.

How could you dis' Aesop Rock? That song, although its not much of EDM, had a great vibe to it. I don't listen to much hip hop, but this vinyl really grabbed my attention. This set was a way huge experimentation, especially starting with that Christmas cut.

You should check out 001 or 003, I think it would fit more of your style. Thanks for the honesty, that's what this is all about.
