-- the effects of various substances
the effects of various substances
im sure plenty of you noticed, but when im say on some kind of substance (marijuana, nitrous, ice, etc.) i find that i am able to sit there and listen to a track and analyze every single point of the track as its playing and it makes the track at least 10x better. The other day me and a couple of friends smoked some and we just sat there and analyzed various kinds of music for a couple hours straight. anybody else notice this about psychoactives?
yep...i smoked a bowl with a friend and listened to some old Orbital. very intersting stuff. the best is listening to sasha - involver...sooo many hidden vocals come out when ur fucked up

LOL, explain what music sounds like when you're stoned to a person who's never smoked is so hard. I'm like "it's like you hear every instrument seperately, yet at the same time you can hear how they come together so beautifully" and then they look at me like I have 2 heads, guess it's something you just have to experience.
I smoke pot often.
It has enhanced listening to music to an extent, but it sure has not added new parts into the music.
taking drugs to make music to take drugs to...that's what it's all about.
Music sound the same to me stoned or sober.

i used to love zoning out and listening to music when i was stoned (i rarely smoke now). i definitely noticed certain melody lines and layers that i never noticed before, and the music sounded more 3D, more textured. i think the same thing happens with the way you see things too. ever watch Ice Age or Finding Nemo when you're stoned? hahaha.
my friend Dre (who liked rap music) and i used to roll joints and put on Dave Seaman GU cds and sit in my car all night just listening to the music. he had never been introduced to any sort of electronic music and i remember him saying "this music is amazing, it's got so many different layers!"
i'll have to remember to take a listen to Involver next time i smoke.
