How loud do you listen to your tunes?

I dunno exactly how to measure it...but on my older PC's I would listen loud enough so I couldn't hear someone talking loudly in the same room...(headphones)

On my new PC with the volume maxed though...my ears have been ringing after listening to 2-3 hr sets

Loud. I used to listen to them extremely loud but I blew out the crappy receiver that was running my big speakers.

Watch it guys. My bf is only 22 but he's DJ'd for a few years and listened to tunes loud like you guys or whatever and now he has something like a 6% hearing loss already, his doctor said.

I honestly see going deaf doing/hearing something I love as the best way of all

Its hard to tell whats ok and whats not though...it would be cool if there was a decibel measuring system...

I like it loud but my apartment simply cannot tolerate it and I am afraid that I gonna be deaf so I listen to the music but still can hear who is talking in the room.

Posted by Floorfiller on Jan-28-2005 17:43:

i figure that if i lose some of my hearing...i just won't have to listen to stupid people anymore hehehe

Meh, 6% over 22 years. Means it should take you over 366 years to go deaf completely Say that if he sustained that 6% in the last 4 years, even then it would still take another 66 years before you'd go deaf completely. Worth it to me.

Posted by Exodus17 on Jan-28-2005 17:47:

pretty loud if thats any kind of measurement

especially DnB, if you cant feel the sub-bass rattle your stomach its not loud enough

Posted by Mr. Pink on Jan-28-2005 18:44:

Rasta

i hear it as loud as i can

not max volume, usually half way, which is enough to be hella loud but not loud enough to bust a speaker.

Posted by madhattared on Jan-28-2005 18:46:

the better the tune the louder it goes =)

Posted by Shudder on Jan-28-2005 18:52:

when its mp3s/online radio mostly average volume. but when spinning, really loud

I think its about the same for me.
I don't listen to it loud when wearing headphones though - damages your hearing much faster.

lol... I know you're being facetious, but my concern is that if you lose "as little" (to me, as much) as 25% of your hearing, that would present problems already.

max.

Posted by kamil on Jan-28-2005 19:27:

anytime im in public and i got my minidisc, turned up all the way and he headphones goin, people are always like "OMFG, thats so loud!" but when i put them on, id LOVE for it to be about 20-30% louder for perfect volume.....am i insane?

Posted by dj_mdma on Jan-28-2005 19:49:

quite loud at home, but the speakers aren't that strong i suppose.

However, when i'm in the car its a completely different matter. Fucking Loud! Even just a 15 minute journey will leave my ears ringing for a fair bit, with my left ear mor numb than my right as the sub is centrally positioned. But its all good

Posted by chojin on Jan-28-2005 19:52:

usually i just listen to it average volume which is listenable, but a bit more...

when i get a new cd or something i've not heard before and it impresses me ill turn it up a bit more though.

but usually ill have it at a moderate volume so it doesn't annoy everyone else in the house :P

Posted by gurra on Jan-28-2005 19:55:

When using the headphones, as I normally do, I try to keep the volume down to spare my ears. Too bad human ears are so sensitive, the kind of music this forum is for is best when played LOUD.

Not very loud.
