Rank 1 - Airwave (Original Dutch Vinyl Mix)

these two tracks are the BEST TRANCE TRACKS OF ALL TIME.

i agree with rank 1 but i prefer pvd or kay cee remixes of binary finary 1998/1999 more than the gouryella one..

Binary Finary is one of the best songs ever

Rank 1 airwave = darude Sandstorm

CHEEEESY

songs that sound they were made in a few hours

where as binary finarys sound could have taken someones lifetime to complete 1 song

I know in reality im sure It didnt take that long

I guess what Im trying to say is airwave and sandstorm had the potential to be really good songs but something went horribly wrong
and the world is forever stuck with a cheesy classic

Binary Finary however will stand out amongst all others, with its emotional appeal, and up-lifting beat it will remain a true classic for eternity.

I dont think songs not even in the ballpark of Binary FInary should compete against such a good song.

It will reign as king forever

how long have you been trance addicts?

I think the longer someone has been into trance/techno

the better they are able to really grasp the true sound of a song

but anyways

thats my 2 cents worth

damn washcity you take up alot of space. Anyways, no fucking way Airwave is as cheesed as darude crap. Man, everytime i used to hear airwave i would go crazy and start dancin around the club. Just because a song has appeal doesn't always mean its cheese.

but it still lacks A WHOLE LOT

it dosent hit that emotional appeal

I mean its possible to have a "good experience" and totally love the song but in reality its flawed

Agree with 1999 (Gouryella Remix) that track is one of my favorites all times , so much energy ,real uplifting

Binary Finary 1998(PVD Mix) is a classic. I thought 2000 remixed by Dumonde was the best remix since 1998. I know Rank1's Airwave was big, but I personally thought it was generic trance. Never liked it.

Damn Chris you are wrong! totally....AIRWAVE is one of the greatest track EVER made...man ya gotta be trippin if u level that shit with SANDSTORM hahaha.....anyway, yeh, i agree that Airwave and Binary Finary 1998 are one of the greatest tracks

actually i wouldn't put airwave to be on the same level as 1998/1999/2000 either. its certainly not as low as sandstorm. i would put it in a happy medium.

duded, calm down, they both b nice tunes, its doing the genre no harm by promoting it, though i do feel quite strange about mike being on top of the pops, "performing live" (obviosly not) the legacy.

i agree, airwave does have a high cheez factor.. but its good cheez. in my mind theres a big fat thick black line between good cheez and bad cheez i wouldnt really rate any mix of 1999 as highly as airwave though.. dont get me wrong, 1999 is a fuckin great tune, but i dont think its such a classic and timeless track as airwave

rank 1 is total class...1998 pvd remix is much better then the gouryella remix. PVD's mix totally kicks ass !!!

I havent got a all time favourite trance track, there r to many good ones, but i think mixmag, or another mag had a chart and cafe del mar won, and that was voted by readers. Not imo, but there we go

I have to agree here...if it were between 1998 and Airwave, then 1998 will take top honours. 1998 has to be heard in a club to feel the true power of that song. I remember PVD dropped it once and the entire club erupted (this was after a year of it being released mind u). Airwave is also a great track, but compared to 1998....i still think it takes a back seat.

1998 was the year of trance, and binary finary made the perfect tune to capture it.

i pretty much agree with what everyone else has stated before me. they are to very diffrent songs that were made with two diffrent ideas in mind. as for airwave being cheese, no way. maybe that song isnt your cup of tea but you have to admit its a great track and it give people a feeling of happines and energy.
