Starting Friday, Famous Players will chop $4 off its ticket prices in Ontario. The Toronto Globe and Mail announced. Moviegoers will pay $9.95, rather than the usual $13.95 for general admission, as part of a marketing ploy to lure people from their homes and into the stadium-style seats.

The move comes at a good time since the Oscar-nominated films are now in theatres and most will not be on DVD for months.
