Guess the softsynth and win...IDK...samples from my hardware synths!

OK guys, just to spice this up a bit...and since I'm at work on 24 hour duty and I'm not flying tonight, I'm bored: guess the softsynth and win samples from ONE of my hardware synths...your CHOICE on what synth and what sound. Now here's a clue: it's not a freeware synth. There ya go, I narrowed it down so it's easier to guess...not like somebody sometime ago that didn't even say if it was hardware or software, LOL. You guys have two more clues left on request.

The one titled Untitled.

The sample won't play for me... but I can guess anyway, right?

*mindhacking*

virus powercore...

Posted by RiCo on Jan-30-2005 00:13:

Why doesn't it play? Just click hi-fi on Untitled.

And no, it's not Powercore, hehe. NEXT!

Nope, not zeta, hehe.

Fruck, I forgot I sold the Korg Prophecy and the Access Virus B. Damn it, haha, sorry guys...if I was at the pad, I would've checked. It toally slipped my mind. Well, I guess the variety is not great now.

*Yamaha AN1x
*Clavia Nord Lead 2
*E-MU Xtreme Lead-1
*Novation Nova

Oh well, great sounds in all of them.

Alan, you're teh biggest highjacker EVAR.

Hey, we're in the same shoes...a nice melody for a pending song. I liked yours a lot. Sounds like hardware...I'm going to say it's the Virus Powercore.

Bzzt.. you sure aren't a ken Jennings

What was your sample? Was it a combination of those synths that you named?

Mine is made from a single synth..

Posted by RiCo on Jan-30-2005 06:35:

Mine is from only one softsynth...and it surprised the hell out of me. I tweaked and tweaked and I got it. I cannot achieve it in my Nova or Nord Lead...with that one I succeded...I got that same sound in my Virus and needed it again but my Virus is sold, so I managed to get it with that softsynth.

that is somewhat impressive... it might be easier to tell, however, if your sample wasn't so distorted

but i'm going to say that new synth that just came out.. the one that was done with synthedit.. can't recall the name..

Posted by RiCo on Jan-30-2005 06:40:

Where is it distorted? Nope, wrong synth, hehe.

where is it ditorted!? are you mad or just listening through $5 speakers

Try streaming it from your site and see if you hear the distortion.. it may be the effect of a crappy server.. doubt it, though..

possibly pro-53.. i know it can get a phat sound.. but not really a sound like that

Posted by RiCo on Jan-30-2005 06:50:

Man, it sounds fine even on my Sony in-ear headphones. Did you listen to the Lo-Fi? That makes it sound like crap. Hi-fi sounds good.

Posted by djAlexg on Jan-30-2005 12:58:

WTF alanzo?your "new track" sample at 0:08 it becomes the worst Ozone - The Rock RIPOFF EVER!!its actually the same melody..you just rearrenged the notes at the end and start..!!!

Posted by staticblue on Jan-30-2005 13:14:

alanzo

the synth is very nice but the melody sounds like half a ripoff of "from russia with love" or "airbase - pole position"

Posted by nzo on Jan-30-2005 13:20:

Don't really know, but it's certainly software...loud hiss and very digital sounding on my 1029a's...

Posted by alanzo on Jan-30-2005 15:11:

haha. fuk.. i'm ripping off of everyone these days, huh?

I don't think it's possible to do an original melody without it sounding like one that's already done.. they're are only 12 notes in a scale and most melodies span only 2 octaves thus 24 notes..

and on top of that, the I, IV, V chord progression is so over used that there may as well be a pre-formed Radif of melodies similar to Persian music.

So long as it's 90% original, you're in the clear

anyway, it's not software.. and the noise you hear is cuz my audiophile sux for recording and I didn't put an x-noise on it
